I said that TCP guarantees that your message will arrive. It doesn't, actually. If your pet snake has chewed through the network cable leading to your computer, and no IP packets can get through, then TCP can't do anything about it and your message doesn't arrive.
Unfortunately, his Slashdotted server is proving that to us right now.
Maybe Nasa can contract with BMI to release the book on CD-ROM instead. Then no one can read it!

The MIT Blackjack team cracked Vegas the legal way. What they did wasn't illegal, but they had to jump through hoops such as costumes and makeup to keep the casinos from kicking them out.

I think the connection is that both men are ``founding fathers,'' Tolkien the father of the epic fantasy, and Berners-Lee the father of the Web.
The Slashdot editors can remember which stories they posted last February, but they can't remember dupe stories they posted the same day??
The bandwidth also doesn't take into account the time needed to encrypt and decrypt the packets, assuming you've locked down your wireless AP.
