Step 3: Greatly reduce the TSA to an inspector core and (re)privatize the industry
Step 4: Cut all aide to unfriendly nations; this will create more instability there weaking those governments until they are not a threat.
Step 5: Make certain the entire world has not just access but is generally accosted with American media and culture. That means high production value stuff for developed nations, on air for free. It means virtually constant pamphlet drops and a more commercial oriented VOA radio network everywhere else. American culture is pervasive. Ours WILL displace more conservative cultures if its made sufficiently omnipresent such that conservative forces can't prevent youth from encountering it. It might take half a generations but the conservative Islam, Chinese, and other unfriendly cultures as we know it today would be eradicated or so Americanized as to be wholly compatible with ours.
Step 6:Start firing lawyers and anyone else who interferes with step 5.
Step 7:Make aide (when our own budget allows) available to friendly nations especially those near unfriendly ones such that the people in the unfriendly ones start to see the value in establishing a friendly government.
There is a difference between the debt and deficit. The deficit refers to only the new debt that must be acquired to finance current operations. It does not address the existing debt or the interest on that debt. Clinton reduced, actually virtually eliminated the deficit. The rate of growth went negative on the debt briefly as well, which mean we actually covered some principle in addition to interest but in percentage terms it was virtually nothing.
Interesting since the economic stimulus act has a price tag higher than the IRAQ war, and was pushed for and signed by Obama. Obama is a no nothing creep, who is destroying America literally by the hour. While its true the last guy was nothing to be to terribly impressed with he at least had our nations best interest in mind. Clearly Obama, does not he is more interesting in pleasing his global warming buggy man gods and seeing just how much like his hero's Casto and Carl Max he can be.
This was a terrorist attack by the Obama administration. It was obviously intended to create mass panic for political reasons. It clearly treasonous behavior and all parties evolved should be executed starting with Obama.
That is a problem with government not with businesses. Business should be seeking to win government should not be enabling them to cheat! Certainly not explicitly in the form of bailouts and granted monopolies. Ideally government would seek to avoid being gamed, where regulatory legislation is passed to that is more beneficial or less harmful to one player than others.
The problem is the government is currupt through and through, its structure, our constitution, and stat constitutions are probably fine but the people at all levels everywhere need to be thrown out. The president, Congress, the Senate, Justices on almost all our courts at the federal level. Most states would be well served by a complete house cleaning as well. It might be a good idea to toss out last 40 years or so legislation and start over.
The biggest problem is though people are lazy and way to willing to accept style over content. When this nation started voters read pamphlets like Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers which laid out complex arguments and political theory. Today they vote based on who can come up with a catchy slogan like "Yes we can!". So the biggest jerk wins.
When people hear "Yes we can?" the response should be "Okay, that may be but should we really and explain to me why you think that, essay format response preferred."
I have worked with just about every major vendors switching equipment. Cisco is by far the worst when it comes to auto sense problems. Older 3COM stuff would be a close second. HP Procurve seems to the be the best, followed closely by Enterasys equipment. I have had a few problems with Extreme but not terribly many.
I have done enough installs and managed enough of each vendors gear for a long enough period that I think my anecdotal evidence is pretty good. I will almost always turn auto sense off inside the data center on Cisco gear. Usually its not a problem for server admins to set their speed and duplex. HP is the only one I trust to autoneg, in that environment and only for smaller shops.
I ALWAYS hard code those values no matter what the vendor on infrastructure equipments, routers, trunks betwixt switches, an the like.
Usually at the edge its to painful to turn off autoneg. It creates to many problems for helpdesk level staff in most places. Which is why I usually recommend HP at the edge.
I have to agree. Most Electricians I have worked with have done an excellent job. They have all the tools for pulling cable and lots of experience doing punch down work. In general they can do it much more quickly and efficiently than I can and with better results.
Some of them have been unfamiliar with running data cable. Its not exactly rocket science. If the parent had taken the time to explain what he wanted he probably would have had perfectly fine work done. I have had guys ask if I need all the pairs or if they can run multiple jacks on one wire and similar questions. So its true some of them don't know.
Even in that case though I wrote out the order in which they should be punched and told him to make sure the wire remains twisted as close of the jack as he could, and he did excellent work.
It sounds like the parent was a jerk and just set someone unfamiliar with the task loose with no help.
While the study of our relationship with the bacteria and other microbes that live inside us is interesting and valid its kinda dumb to talk about ourselves as ecosystems. We are another life form, that has a symbiotic relationship with those microbes in a larger ecosystem.
We don't need words like symbiotic if we are going to think of ourselves as an ecosystem. Also just about any animal or plant made of more than a few cells is going to be an ecosystem under this implied definition. I am not sure how exactly we want to define ecosystem but something a little more complex than "any thing which something lives inside" seems appropriate.
Ideally some method of using both should be employed. The key should be something you *have* which can naturally be stolen; and the password should be something you *know* harder to steal but could be weak or might get leaked, with liberal application of Gin.
Using both is a good idea because its going to be hard for an attacker to come into the possession of both at the same time.
This is a suck fact but it works this way none the less; much of the time. Some larger companies are fair but may are not.
Its often the case when you are small firm dealing with a very big firm as a customer or in a partnership contract they will stick you with the risk. Early cancellation and remittance causes for "non failure to perform situations" can be hard to get for the little guy. The big firm thinks they working with them is a too good an opportunity for you to pass up. In may cases its probably true and if you take the contract someone else will. Even if the total expected rewards of the partnership or the value of your product/service is considered equal to what the other party is paying you as little guy get to take the greater share of risk.
The larger firm usually has a the stronger hand, so they get their way.
The whole unintended consequences thing is another powerful argument for limited government. The smaller the government and body of law is the easier it is for everyone to understand. This is good all around, it makes being a good citizen easier on everyone.
It also means that when we do have a problem that we must address as a society we have a system that is understandable and can be changed with fewer surprises.
In addition to repealing the 16th and 17th amendments; I also propose ratification of a new one. Something to the effect of:
Congress shall pass no legislation without a sunset date of no greater than 25 years; after which time the law is no longer applicable unless renewed. Laws may be renewed early reseting the 25 year clock and may be renewed after expiration. Law may only be renewed via the following process. The legislation must be read aloud in full by the House Speaker in the House and the Vice President in the Senate. A quorum must be present during the entire reading. A majority vote to renew must be recorded in both houses; the president does not need to sign the bill unless its has been modified from its original writing. If any modification to legislation is made other than the date of sunset on the bill the President again has the right to veto the legislation.
Good point. Election officials are required to by law to ensure the election is run in accordance with the law! How can they possibly be doing this when the hardware and software being used is not Open and they do not possess the skills to audit them if they were.
I wonder if the EFF or ACLU(not that I care much for that organizations behavior as rule) could petition corts for writs of Mandamus to enforce elections laws and intemperate them in such as way as to force the opening of the devices.
Lots of places require poll workers to have background checks. Are all the people who contributed code to the voteing machine effectively poll works? Did they have background checks that are compliant with the election law? How do we know? There are avenues of attack!
Lowest bidder, wow now that is wishful thinking. My guess is the government paid top dollar for this crap; and the software company that won the bid is probably owned by the son in law of whatever official put the job out to bid.
I am sorry but on a voteing machine the entire software stack should be OPEN.
How do you *know* its a hardware problem if you don't have the ability to audit the software? Maybe there is a back door and someone can setup up so that if candidate X is doing a little to well, a certain number of clicks on X get recorded as clicks W above or Y below so it *looks* like a hardware calibration issue.
I am not sure that you can argue an album is a basic unit, at least not anymore. I would argue that anytime the stuff has been marketed separately the publisher has acknowledged the album version is a compilation of works.
Songs on sold on Amazon,ITMS,ETC,ETC as parts of albums they are sold as tracks. Do they indicate the tracks are part of the large compilation; usually but I think most people view them as "entire songs" as apposed to clips. They don't usually play the full album end to end on radio either; another example of the song being marketed not the album.
The marketing lines are "love this song; get it at X..."
This is different from when book publishers make a chapter available. The marketing meme remains "Like the book read more at..." It is up to the plantif to show harm in most civil actions. If they expect to hold a defendant liable for multiples of an entire album when only one song was shared, they should have to show that the album was being represented as the "complete work" and marketed that way.
Dude, I can't wait to see that! Access is going to schooled pretty hard in most events but when they get to the VBA execution contest Oracle is going to crying home to mommy!
If your database environment is such that you can "let it download and... to have them installed automatically" I don't really think you need Oracle at all.
SQL Server 2005 is probably a better fit, its desktop engine variant might even be appropriate. I am not saying SQL Server can't handle big loads either, it can I have personally designed huge ETL processes on it at a F50 company. I am NOT SQL Server bashing, just pointing out that it can do GOOD ENOUGH JOB in a small shop with almost no tweaking and yea WSUS could push patches out to it automatically too; and restart the system after application or not.
The price model on Oracle something like $4,995 per CPU or $149 per user, last time I checked is probably not something sensible for an operation that would consider automatic updates, and appliance like one size fits all installations desirable features.
Um you do know that upgrade media, always could do full installs all you had to do was insert the media from a qualifying prior version during the install. I installed onto black HDDs all the way up through win98se by offering the installer my Windows 3.0 disk 8 (I think it would ask for ) during the install.
That's right I am sick of their agenda, which has nothing do to with clean water and air. I want clean air, and clean water. Not water filled with heavy metals and PCBs from their stupid soon to be mandated CFL lamps, or LED lamps. I want air that is not filled with all sorts of nasty acids from manufacturing all these stupid solar panels, LED lamps, batteries for retarded hybrid cars, etc, etc.
I will take a little extra of the HARMLESS C02, that you, I, and the rest of the air breathing creatures of this planet are exhaling every instant. Slightly larger fruit and some small risk of rising temperature, for which there is no compelling evidence are all things I can live with.
We should be ensuring that our burring of focile fuels coal, oil, etc, is being do cleanly and producing only CO2 + H20. That would be the most "Green" thing we could be doing. Most of this "Green" tech is just lower C02 tech and comes at the expense of being "Green" not in support of it. C02 has become everyones sole focus, and its completely wrong. It might not even pose any sort of threat! Yet we are doing all sorts of things to reduce it that have very well known negative side effects.
Now if we can't just convince the global warming fools the only solution to the problem is to sacrifice Brack Obama to the sun gods we should be in great shape. The good news is selling this idea might not be to terribly hard as the globalwarming-fascist agenda been destroying the publics understanding of science for decades now.
Sounds like an Obama voter to me. They don't understand what the terrorists wanted as a totalitarian regime in America that would stop exporting our culture and stop showing the world the virtue a freedom.
Well with Obama we have exactly that. The only rights we have now that will actually be respected is the right to have Obama's puppet masters tell us what to do. The mans actions this week have been nothing short of treasonous.
Anyone looking at the news and thinking about it longer than 5min this week can tell Obama has plainly acted against US interests. He should not only be impeached, but probably executed. They only thing is we could never get a conviction because the people who really control him happen to be the same people who would need to vote to convict.
I will say this, well I can engage in an activity that maybe in some far off future leads to global warming and drowsing polar bears or I can engage in an activity that puts harmful heavy metals and PCBs into the air your breath and the water YOU drink today! So what do you prefer little Timy?
True, but if your goal is just "take down the internet", then you don't need to keep your botnet on the net. You give the bots the instruction to begin the attack,
They then automatically do something like traceroute to some pretty central sites. Google, Microsft, maybe the government sites around the world etc. Each bot picks randomly form the targets. Then each bot starts the attack.
The attack is not focused on the destination but say two hops before that.
As the host loses its ability to reach that hop it moves its attack to the hop before that and so on and so fourth until its attacking its default router.
You don't need to keep control of the botnet. Hell the bots can close their control channel after the attack order is given so not whitehat can tell them to stop. They just keep doing their evil work until someone manages to kill the host or at least your process.
The only thing I can think of is there is a "BIG" trust factor in the telecom world. I might have contracts that say I am supposed to route so much traffic on to your network, or must route traffic from networks X,Y, to you but am free to do as I wish with Z. There have been cases where call admission has been "messed" with to betterment of some convulsive parties. I can imagine something like this happening pretty easily.
Sure AT&T you get to be the long distance carrier for my customers if you can give me a rate of 1.7c/min. They say ok. Now I am in the same "colo" in this case as some other VOIP entity. I should route all of net calls to AT but I collude with the other guy to cross connect our networks. We can route the would be off net calls across to each other when we are the end destinations. This lets us keep or exclusive contract with At&T who should be getting our business. While we still charge our customers the 2.5c/min offnet fee and just pocket the entire thing rather then buying time for At while we quietly move the data over our secret cross connect.
Now we must carry this calls on our books so we can charge our customers but have to get creative be cause we are not getting At&T into the loop so to speak. This means we don't pay the taxes for call admission either. Which eventually shows up when one of the conspirators gets audited; or maybe AT&T notices gosh its strange our datawhare house says we consistently ran X calls a month between POP X and POP Y now we see almost none but calls going every place else for those points, they must be screwing us? This is where the FBI comes in and where it may really be fraud.
Let me offer a plan that actually might work:
Step 1: Fire anyone with the title "czar"
Step 2: Dismantle the DHS
Step 3: Greatly reduce the TSA to an inspector core and (re)privatize the industry
Step 4: Cut all aide to unfriendly nations; this will create more instability there weaking those governments until they are not a threat.
Step 5: Make certain the entire world has not just access but is generally accosted with American media and culture. That means high production value stuff for developed nations, on air for free. Only good if your interested in the solutions the group of people typically playing MMOs arrives, at.
Maybe "Kill it" is a good answer; but you might just as easily come up with that one on your own.
