Try pressing Ctrl+Alt+V instead of just Ctrl+V Then select "Unformatted text". Obviously depends on the program, but I do Ctrl+Alt+V dozens of time per day, to KEEP formatting, because by default (in office) I have changed my options to remove all formatting and just paste text by default.
