Have you tried tethering via bluetooth or USB using MyWi to reduce battery usage? Also, in advanced settings, I turn the power of WiFi to 30% which is more than enough when using it as a WiFi hotspot.
MyWi on Jailbroken iPhone allows bluetooth, cable and WiFi tethering on demand from an iPad using your current phone data plan: http://intelliborn.com/mywi.html it's a pretty sweet program, been using it to turn my iPhone in to a WiFi hotspot for my laptop for ages.
But at the end of the day, you're still left with a boat load of radioactive waste that you have to store somewhere.
"Whether used fuel is reprocessed or not, the volume of high-level waste is modest, - about 3 cubic metres per year of vitrified waste, or 25-30 tonnes of used fuel for a typical large nuclear reactor. The relatively small amount involved allows it to be effectively and economically isolated."
experiment with winKey plus up and down as well (to maximise and minimise).
Also, assigning keyboard short-cuts to program short-cuts on the start menu is very handy (bring up properties and enter shortcut key). e.g. ctrl+alt+w for word, ctrl+alt+s for windows 7's snipping tool (another awesome feature of windows 7 I use all the time), etc.
Stink, I can't install my Windows 95 programs on Windows 7... BTW, I think you're wrong, give me an example rather than say "I would think" as I've had bugger all problems installing older apps, not that I can think of any I've really needed or didn't have upgrades.
Windows 7 does snap windows to the sides to take up half the screen. It's probably the most used feature of Windows 7 for me:-) With multiple monitors you need to use WinKey+Cursor key.
I think if you come out of Uni with a degree or whatever, it proves that you know the fundamentals, how to learn, time management, networking and how to hold a great party. I don't think the studies get in the way.
I'm heading back to NZ in Dec this year, my greatest hesitation with going back to set up a new office for my company is the Internet situation in NZ. Stupidly low data caps!!! How the heck am I gonna be able to manage that? From what I understand and hear, it's purely political. Doesn't NZ enjoy the nice big fat fibre pipes running around the pacific? Bah, rant, rave.
You need to work to live, not the other way around! Damn... Try a scientific experiment, for 2 weeks stop drinking coffee to get over your withdraw, then for 2 weeks after that, turn up to work around 8:30-9, have an hour for lunch, and leave work around 5:30-6. With the spare time after work you then have, make plans with friends to do stuff, from going to the pub, playing computer games, going for a walk/run, kicking a ball around in a park, going to gym, bike ride, watching a movie, playing a board game, to just chilling out. Then see if you like your life more. You may not even realise that you're missing out?!
Completely off-topic, but wow, I just browsed to that site, Chrome automatically translated it to me and it was a perfect read! I went on to read a bunch more pages with no difficulties. Translation has come a loooong way:-)
What happens if you zoom in on the web page? I.e. click Ctrl and + together? That should magnify everything, but does it keep nice smooth fonts for ya?
Ironically, since the volcano started spewing ash in to the air, London has seen some of its sunniest days this year. Gorgeous blue sky days, with NO jetstreams criss-crossing it as well! And as far as "year without a summer", the UK has just had two years with bugger all summer...
For the past few years I've just had my PC connected to my TV and watch iPlayer (seldom) or downloaded TV shows. Never have paid a TV license, never will, because I don't watch live TV. Once the TV licensing guy came to my front door and tried to convince me that their "detectors" had "detected" me watching live TV. I called him a liar and revoked his implied right of access to the building and escorted him off the premiss. Now if he or anyone from TV licensing come to my front door they'll be trespassing. Learn your rights, TV licensing have no more power than if I came to your front door and said I was a vaccine cleaner inspector, let me in! The TV licensing company makes its money from scaremongering.
You do NOT need a TV license to watch iPlayer. You only need a TV license to watch live TV. Therefore the iPlayer is for people like me, who don't pay a TV license because I don't watch live TV!
In 'Enterprise', there's loads of fictional movie watching nights!
So you're saying WP7 is 4 years behind the iPhone?
Yeah, skynet references have jumped the shark...
I love your attitude, I'm going to wait until the iPhone 6 comes out, then iPhone 4's will be cheaper again and I'll be able to go "nah nah" to you!

Is there a slashdot comment filter so I can remove posts from angry kids under the age of 16?

And at least you CAN store the waste, unlike coal and gas...

ok. Out of interest, have you tried creating a shortcut to the install and changing the compatibility?

torrific.com must be well used in NZ?

Can't say I noticed any change in my pointer when I installed it.
Try turning off your mouse pointer shadow?!
Exactly, she should be singing "isn't it unfortunate".
Piss off Alanis, you're on the wrong blog.

Exactly, totally agree. I'd love to watch Hulu outside UK as well.
