Why use any bleeping letter acronym at all? How hard is it to just say "2560x1440"? Clear, unambiguous, and doesn't require a google search to understand.
It would be better if it became the habit to spend money on security. That $8500 would have gone a long way towards decent security measures.
One wonders, though, what an elementary school district needs with 25 servers (or more; tfa says 25 were affected). What was so mission critical that it was worth paying cash to get back? Why not just format the affected machines, reinstall, and be done with it? The database that says litte Timmy got a B last year just aren't mission critical.
There have been some "big announcements" in other hard science fields from China in the past decade or two that have turned out to be bogus.
Why pick on China? Every country on the planet has been guilty of this. Until a scientific finding has been peer reviewed, and hopefully duplicated, it's just cold fusion all over again.
No, it's *worse* than autocorrect. If you look at twitter, Facebook, or any social media, you'll find that people have completely horrible spelling and grammar. Swiftkey will try to make your posts look just like theirs.
I'm sure that after replying to their boss with a "Like totally dude, sounds rad" text message, most people will turn this feature off.

The OnePlus Two is also compatible with all carriers. It's also half the price of most high-end smartphones.
The other word losing it's meaning is "bug".
How does it appear on your annual review when you *intentionally* created a bug at the request of the marketing department? Is that good or bad?
Can anyone state a reason why Yahoo still exists? Do they do anything at all that isn't done better by someone else?
They should have gone bust back around 2003. They're certainly on the road to bankruptcy; it's just taking a painfully long time.
No, Matrox was ruined by it's two co-CEOs. Neither of them had a clear vision of the future; but having two competing leaders never works well.

Wait, you mean those speeches at the debates were *encrypted*? Well, that makes sense now; what they were saying made no logical sense in English.
Basically, a supercapacitor on a chip could be the next generation "battery" everyone is seeking for mobile phones etc.
If this were true, manufacturers would be using existing discrete supercapacitors in phones; but they aren't, are they?
Integrating components on chip merely drives your costs down; it does not bring added functionality.
Hey, even a bricked Apple phone can tell you when there's an earthquake. Just leave it on the edge of any convenient table.
Hey, the Amber alert system is really useful. If you kidnap a kid, you know you're golden until you see the alerts.
From what I can see, "Time" used to be some popular form of journalism printed and distributed on paper. I had no idea that those still existed.
I'm glad she's out of the race but you realize Fiorina is the only candidate you refer to by first name.
What about "Jeb!" ? And "The Donald" ?
Besides, most people refer to her neither as "Carly" or "Ms. Fiorina", but as "that #**@ who ruined HP".
Oh, wait, you mean out as "she dropped out of the Presidential race"; not out as "she publically declared that she is a lesbian".
Never mind, carry on.

I sure hope that robots are nice and soft and cuddly and squeezable. I wouldn't want to bruise or injure myself while using them.
"Does this feature clearly make the product better?"
You need to ask "better for whom".... better for the end user, or better for advertisers?
QA still needs to test the entire product every single release, no matter what was added or changed.
And just because you *can* slip an unfinished feature to the next release, doesn't mean your bosses will be happy about it.
Once again, I'm glad I don't work for Mozilla. Is their plan subtitled "How to create burnout in your workforce"?
Seriously: Great company; but I hope the punishing schedule doesn't cause their workforce to abandon ship.
All along I thought that was real human blood and gore; now you're saying it is faked with turkey organs?
Shut up and take my money!!1
Sorry, I'm not ready to forgive Shuttleworth for that whole Unity fiasco just yet.
Besides, I hardly think he needs my money, he has quite enough of his own.
No, he's the VP of Open Source Affairs.
Although, when you have a VP at Corporate HQ in charge, that probably takes all the fun out of having an affair.
So, in a nutshell: the average Chinese consumer is just as ignorant about good security practices as the average American. Hardly surprising.
I'm consistently seeing +4/+5 moderated posts calling something spam or a bullshit topic.
I'm also tired of seeing perfectly reasonable comments moderated as -1 Troll. Expressing disagreement is not the same as trolling.
You can't see how many people read TFA..
I'm sure that the data on page reads is available to slashdot internally. And yes, that would be excellent data to use.
