I think you should create some sort of device in which these laser pointers are mounted. Then hack together something with which you can change the pattern against the wall at your pleasure. I personally have always wanted a whole wall full of taplights so that I could do just that. It would be hours of family fun. Plus I would see the potential for some pretty good geek time if you could write up some software or whatnot to control the pattern, either through your PC or other device. Enjoy!
Oh god, is that just not the worst. When people use excel for things that should be done in a database. Simply inserting a line breaks 20 calculations and they have to go about redoing a bunch of them for hours. I always ask them, "Would you use a screwdriver to drive a nail?" Half of them say yes, that's right before I slap them.
While I fully know of that situation (God do I know!), that is more a problem with the designer than Access itself. That's like blaming the saw for cutting off the finger of a person that didn't know how to use it. That's all PEBCAK (or is it PEBKAC?). If you use Access in a similar way that Rekall is meant to be used (merely as a front end to a real database and designed by someone that knows what they're doing) it is quite good. That being said, I'm definitely going to give this a try. I've always wanted to learn Python and this gives me a real good reason to do so.
It would still be much cheaper than any Windows Server install because of these three little words: Client Access License. My guess is that they are going after the installed base of Windows Servers. Those that don't need 99.999999% uptime. Otherwise those companies would go to the IBMs, HPs and Suns of the world. I don't think they want to or even should try to compete with these types.
Here in Seattle I use blarg.net. It's very good. The uptime has been remarkable. It is $50/month for Qwests 640k line. You get 8 routable IPs plus unmetered transfer, which is really nice.
Ok...I was wondering if that's how bio-diesel was produced. The only drawback to that though is its "compatibility" with current engines. And sure you'd still be spewing out lovely emissions. More a question out of curiosity than anything. Maybe oil companies will start growing plants instead of drilling for oil...perhaps even repopulate the rainforests since it is economically viable! *wakes-up*
Just a random thought, which has probably been refuted before and makes no real economic sense, in any sense of the word. It's also probably the complete wrong direction to go too or is being done already and I'm missing something competely(is that enough qualification for you?). But if we can compress carbon to create diamonds, why can't we grow plants and compress them to create oil? I'll go back to my coding now...
Actually I do believe 802 refers to the year and month the first spec of these was formed...that being february of 1980. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure I'm not...
Go to the central point of the U.S and travel 500 miles in any direction. Then find out the prominent language. And then from that point travel another 500 miles in any direction and find out the prominent language. It'll be English both times. Try that in any European country. You'll most likely run into three different languages from start to the first point and to the second point. You're probably also passing through a number of different locales with yet other dominant languages. It's all about proximity and necessity. If every state had a different language, it would be quite the same as it is in Europe considering the average state is about the same size as the average european country.
2K is good. I like it a lot better than XP even. Of course the machine I use XP on is not nearly the machine that my 2K machine is. I've had one blue screen in about 3 years and that was because I umm...pulled the IDE cable from the HD while machine was on...dumbass!

My old ADSL connection had the habit of going down more than i would like
Now only if you had that same problem with your girlfriend, then there'd be no need for broadband.
I'm really sorry. It was just there for the taking.

yes..."radioactive" and "lap" (as in laptop) don't really do a whole lot for me. I would like to have kids one day. :)
I always thought the best joke was:
Q: What's brown and sticky?
A: A stick
And maybe in a couple more years we'll get mouse gestures too!

Can a single sided die exist? And if it did, what's on the other side?

nano clothes? How would you pour hot grits down the front of those pants?

Oh I don't know. Perhaps a little feature called Save As...?
Come on...in all things technical...there is never a winner, only a leader.
Isn't it obvious? Cheap, light and you'll even get some exercise...a skateboard!
Another thing I want to know...you were on your knees why? Hmmm...just how do you get paid?
having been the guy that fixes computers at a sorority for over three years now
Need any help?
In the snow...
Hell...Procomm Plus and a couple of high speed 2400bps modems connected in full duplex mode in the mid to late 80s.
No...that's Open Sores Biology
