That's some interesting information. I am anything BUT a mechanic. Does anyone out there know what the differences are in maintenace of vehicles of this ilk? i.e. you don't have to change oil, etc. Would the maintence be a lot less to overcome the one time big purchase of a battery pack?
While I agree that the "techs" should have some semblance of tech knowledge and vocabulary you always, always, always check the physical and easiest to fix problems first. That's why every sysadmin asks if your caps lock is on for password problems, asks if everything is plugged in, and then checks himself for any sort of connectivity problem and does this FIRST. After that fails (if it does), then you try to reason through it a bit more and it scales up the tech ladder(hopefully). If you instantly go for the esoteric, you'll just be driving yourself nuts, especially when you realize your network cable is unplugged.
Is it only me or does anyone else have trouble uttering the words "disk space" without tripping up? Of course maybe you wouldn't be doing it on accident in this case. "Oops...did I say that?"
Hmmm...I just noticed something...Slashdot is a lot like Hollywood. Instead of namedropping all the stars you were out with, you OSS-drop everything you work with.
Because it is private property. You will probably also notice a sign that says, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone." And so long as their policy is not discriminatory they have every right to do so. Let's remember one the basic tenets of America is Life, Liberty and Property
Ummm...you can't try a law that doesn't exist. Said law must be challenged by someone (I assume by actually breaking it) and then the law's constitutionality can be tested.
But ya'll have that whole percentage thing when it comes to Canadian artist's on the radio.
My favorite thing, which I haven't quite figured out just yet, is the whole Math equation thing on the back of things like scratch off lottery tickets and the such.
Can't this pretty much be done already? Not on wifi, but all the major cell providers have services that give internet access with advertised speeds up to 120kbps. And considering PGE Park is smack dab in the middle of Portland I would have to think it would be able to be accessed from there. Yes, much slower than wifi and you have to buy extra hardware and services but it can still be done. I would think that if these nodes were considered illegal then Verizon had better take down that cell tower providing this service too.
I live and die by Google Groups. I actually find that I go to it more often than the web portion. This is especially true when looking for reviews and such because of the problems noted in the article. Sure they are not necessarily professionals doing benchmark tests but you get real opinions that aren't tied to anything and you will frequently find a link directing you to a good site.
And since I'm no CS major I think I've gained half my knowledge on different programming languages through it. Can't figure out how to do something? I'm sure someone else had the EXACT same problem. Do a search and chances are you'll find a good solution which you would not have figured out on your own, at least not for a good long time anyway.
And my god, to treat the babblings of a website run by the campaign as scripture is inane, regardless of party of affiliation. It's called PR. And they themselves are trying to be "the party of the people" with such "statistics."
His terms were incredibly unpopular? That would explain why he almost assuredly would have won this last election if he were allowed to run.
And should I point out a link someone posted yesterday from a news source that is 'supposed' to be funny but eerily true(actually it was probably quite predictable) and makes obvious reference to the Clinton years.
I still get weirded out by the fact you can get an aerial shot at fairly decent detail on Mapquest. Granted, it's not live and real-time and is probably using public information(is it?). But it's Mapquest! It's not the U.S., or any other, government which I'm sure have a little bit more money and technology to play with.
Hmmm...buy it for $50...use it up...buy a new one...sell 'slightly used' one on eBay for $30. There ya have it...a full refill (well, half) for $20. Ok...I guess it doesn't make much sense.:)
I know I always make a joke along the lines of buying a new printer is cheaper than getting new ink cartridges. Does anyone out there know of a printer out there that would make this true?

Hmmm...maybe everyone here should buy a tune from iTunes, move to Canada and then sue Apple in small claims court (no lawyers) in America.
And obviously do not miss the Smithsonian...

Midget? No...Troll...and god knows we have enough of those around to take care of the demand. Maybe it'll solve our unemployment problem too.
Before you can logon you must answer three questions...
Hmmm...maybe this is what MSN will be unveiling in a new search engine.
Search for: Nuts
*pop-up window*
It looks like you are trying to search for nuts...what kind of nuts are you looking for?

Preview, preview, preview...
If there is something out there that does all that I want, I haven't found it. Is there?
