I don't know, I have no problem ignoring emails until I'm ready for a context switch. That's what makes email so great......you don't need to answer it immediately, you can wait until you're ready.

Also youtube.......I don't understand people who'd rather watch a video than read a transcript.

Forbes does that (if you have adblocker installed, you can't visit their site). They seem to be happy with it.

For me the end result is that I don't visit their site. And nothing of value was lost.

Skip Chrome and use Firefox with full ad block. If you don't have unlimited data, this is the wisest option (those ads aren't free for you, and they are heavy).

Since even 'approved' ads can contain malware, it is foolish to not block all the ads. Block them all (and if you must use a hosts file, why not?)

  4. It would arguably be better if the money never left the states to begin with. No reason to pass it through the national government, giving the centralized region that much more power. (For example, for one thing, if the national government had less money, it would be harder for it to go to war).

So you end up going to work at 22:00 and return at 08:00 and it's all in the daylight, so what , these are just numbers. Travel planning will be simplified and so will arranging meetings where people join on-line from different time zones.

You optimize for the common use case.......talking about 9:00AM and expecting people to know it's morning is a much more common use case than needing to change your watch when you travel.

If I say, "Oh, it's 7:00PM in your time zone?" everyone already knows it's after standard business hours there.

I've been writing traffic modelling software for decades because I find it entertaining and relaxing. I would then occasionally move a few traffic cones in the morning and traffic would flow nicely both ways... until someone realized the cone shouldn't be there. The #1 factor I considered at all times was how does the behavior of one type of person impact the behavior of those around them. So, I'd place cones in places that would force people to do the right thing as opposed to permitting and therefore encouraging opportunism.

    That is wonderful.
