    No it doesn't. There is nothing stopping a IT security 'investigator' gaining a PI license, what is being proposed is using existing laws to ensure that the IT security invegtigator are controlled in the same way PI are. The existing PI laws were created to weed out the rouge PIs and how would weeding out the rouge IT investigator be a problem?

    A newspaper is only as good as it readership. Their advertising rate depends upon this. How is this going to help? It will not, some of the most financially successful papers in the world are free or have a very low nominal cost.

    And the networks decided to pause shows over school holiday periods, because they and their opposition believe that some of their audience are away. Have they not heard of VCRs? BT allow the viewer to choose when and what order to watch their favourite shows, when will the networks get it?

    I don't like Sony's chances, the appeal will win in the High court b/c of the Australia's Trade Practices law. Changes in the copyright do not give the comapny a right to run a cartel, so Sony will struggle again to win.

    The really only thing new here is iTunes support, but then with the lack of real storage I would not think that this is a huge benefit over it competition.

    The important word is 'theory'. Global warming is a theory. And this reports states that the 'droughts' have been caused by rising temperatures where there is no evidence that temperatures are rising.

    The most likely cuprit is El Nino and at least it gets a mentioned at the end of the article.

    Yeah, and this does miss some points. Viruses in humans can mutate and attach themselves to other viruses. Until a computer virus does this they eventually die out when the PC gets patched.

    But i guess it was fun for someone to do...

    I think that MS is being sued because they have the money, not because they are infringing. The pluging ability in IE is one thing, but the way I read the patent the makers of the plugin are he ones infringing. Anyway if there is real prior art out there everyone who makes a plugin is going to be happy.

    seems that each company just gets the latest technology, add the an existing technology or idea and try to corner the market by a patent.
