I would like to point out that Mass. is forcing open standards, open data formats; not Linux, not even open source
I don't know you, but I would like my personal data stored in an open format... if something goes wrong with a closed format only one corporation can fix it!
About the price, maybe in the CAWG world open solutions are more expensive, but in the real world they're more secure. Well worth their (imaginary) expensiveness.
Some bios (like mine) let you choose boot device if you hit ESC at booting...(when they're doing the memory test). Just hammer the key and a menu appears with all able-to-boot devices, so if there's a CDROM drive it shows in that menu.
But maybe the bios you talk about don't support that, of course, or maybe it's another key...
What reason to distrust? Remember that the OS they're sponsoring is opensource
What about reasons to distrust the closed source OS from the country of the guys who gave us the Patriot Act and the Oil Crusade?

I would bet it isn't.
The page is made of a lot of tables
I've heard blind people hate tables in webpages because (loud)reading software shuts something like "start table, column one, row one (cell contents), columnt two..."
Why only 100kph?
Maybe in the first 10km it makes sense to go slow, cause of friction with air, but after that? I don't see any limiting factor to go faster there...
rm -rf /* (innovative on sco's lawyers machines... won't take much time at all to complete...)
BS, we all know SCO's lawyers machines use Windows.
/dev/pen - it's a char device

Nothing to see here, move along...
So you're suggesting that the US army should nuke themselves?
Interesting...
not that I would oppose to it myself!
No, more probably they will use p2p to get all the disks' content.

What would'nt surprise me is if they offered their crapware for free(cost); see Munich
*raises hand*
me. I never patch Win.
Nor would i let that crap connect to internet.
I would suggest using randomized data for the domains, so that they can't cache requests to their database. ;)
And a delay lower than 1sec
Ok, destroying logs can be illegal...
What about not generating _any_ logs at all?
Can ISPs legally do that?
The problem with KOffice being it doesn't convert from MSOffice docs as well as OO
It appears pilots are pretty much accustomed to handling weird problems with equipment, which they attribute to passengers' portable devices.
Then equipment is DEFECTIVE.
Replace it and/or isolate it properly.
I think his argument seems more like: In the end the great benefited of .NET/mono development is Microsoft, ergo you're working for Microsoft for free.
Not to mention that helping Microsoft undermines OSS viability in too many different ways to post in this short message.
Portability of apps is great, if all parts get equivalent chances/benefits, which it isn't true in this case.

Don't mind the fact that he was a convinced supporter of Franco's facist, centralist, and therefore rabidly anti-catalanist dictatorship
Exactly for that I found interesting to remember he was from Catalonia, i hope he's twisting in his tomb right now.
Here, here, mod parent up
Visca Catalunya!
