I would suspect a fan (or electric helicopter or hovercraft) could lift a pound with less than 180w. Of course, you'd have to count for the weight of the fan and motor, but make it big enough and you should be OK.
I could never figure out how to get out of the apartment in that damn game... made me very frustrated about the $35 I had spent on it.
And I was given StarCross, which turned out to also be impossible for someone who had never taken Chemistry (I was only 13). Fortunately, I was able to find a hint book for that. Other than the Chemistry (and the Grues!:P), it was fun for me.
Much later, Infocom started assigning difficulty rankings to their games. StarCross turned out to be "Advanced":P
ISTM that once enough companies start offering grid management services that the price paid to the end-users (the node owners) will come way down and then will probably not be enough to cover electricity for the computers & A/C.
BogoFilter is an open-source bayesian spam filter...
Some of the developers have done extensive testing: Greg Louis' Page has lots of information, comparing different bayesian approaches, different header processing, etc.
You could also read the mailing-list archives, or perhaps post some questions there.
The air coming out of any A/C or fridge cooler will be at close to 100% humidity.
The A/C ONLY removes EXCESS humidity... e.g. it will remove ALL the humidity that cannot be carried at the current temperature, but it won't necessarily remove more than that, esp. if there is a source of more moisture (wet food, etc.) inside.
The cafes I've done work for had everything locked down so well you'd have no chance of installing any drivers or editing software. Then again, you shouldn't need any drivers as win2k & XP should support most card readers already.
Of course, other cafes may vary.
I'd say get a cheap used laptop with a floppy drive; a floppy gives you much greater odds that you can copy the pics, and you might even be able to use the laptop to connect online.
I'm not sure what kind of TV system they use in Japan... I doubt its NTSC... or if its not, are NTSC TVs easy to get there?
All TV's in Japan are NTSC (OR HD:) )
Also, China (and Taiwan?) were PAL, but due to VCD's, almost 100% of their newer TV's are DUAL Mode PAL/NTSC. Most even auto-detect what kind of signal is being input. Broadcasts are still PAL, but their VCD players (and now DVD) and camcorders are mostly or all NTSC. Consumers in mainland China don't have VCR's, BTW.
I got an email from Scott Adams yesterday that the Comics.com emails such as "Daily Dilbert" will no longer be free. They are going to announce subscription pricing soon.
I think I'll just replace it with a cron job that sends me an email linking to dilbert.com.
How easy is it to operate a Windows server with just a power and network lead plugged into it...
Well, I do it, but it sucks. We use VNC (free, but slow), and Timbuktu (not free, sometimes crashes, quicker), and are able to do everything except get into the bios that way. TSClient would probably work too, but we are running an NT4 server so it wasn't an option.
I do prefer *nix with SSH however. If you know what you are doing you never need a GUI.

I thought it was Dyke Struh. (uh like huh?)
An english I had in college described it as the feeling you get when the person who passed you and cut you off gets pulled over for speeding. :P

You said you like their laptops, but they are expensive, so you might want to check it out. They sell both new and factory refurbished stuff there.
I think a 4" fan may be too small for that much heat.
Maybe go with a low-rpm 8" or 12" 120V fan, or a rotary-type blower.

Time to setup snort I guess :P
They cannot have a vacuum in them, as the head gap is created by the bernoulli effect, and without it, the drive would quickly destroy itself!
I'm not trying to troll, but you sound like a poster child for the case against using Outlook.
Thank you!

Umm... My friend was literally 1 block away from the GTE CO, and got an Earthlink DSL ($39/mo, later became $49/mo).
He NEVER got over 400Kbits in and 128 or 256 (don't remember which) out.
If you're getting more, good for you, but I don't think that is their general policy.
It's not necessarily an open invitation to crash, but they don't seem to mind when "teenagers" come in and drink their beer, either.
Oops, You're right!
Thanks
And they found it near a dead whale...
giant squid and whales are known to attack each other. (evidenced by sucker marks found on dead whales, etc.)
Don't forget Gallagher's RV-Based missile transport, :P
or the Far Side's X-15 Cruise Basselope

Sounds like it's not much bigger than the conveyor x-ray machines for carry-on.

No, but I'll check it out. Thanks!
