    Laugh if you wish, but I work with municipal governments. If you want to see crumbling infrastructure and yesterday's technology, look at your cities. There's no incentive to maintain anything, and every incentive to squeeze every last dime out of something until it breaks.

    No, the answer to better internet service is more competition. There are many cities that have only one provider and others who would compete are kept out . . . . by the city!

    All bills should be clean with no "extras" inserted under cover of darkness.

    Of course, if we had an actual budget, we wouldn't be talking about this particular bill, but the country hasn't had a real budget in years. Continuing resolutions and last minute fixes are no way to run a country.

    Chances of such an amendment? Realistically - zero. Unless the states do it in a Constitutional Convention, there's no chance a corrupt Congress and President would go for it.

    Because there was a warning and no bombs were found, I suspect that it was a test to see how L.A. would react and what their resources were. The real attack will come without warning.

    The next time might involve bombs designed to go off when the schools are being searched so as to endanger the people looking for them.

    The enemy is not stupid and they know exactly what they're doing; they've had so much experience at spreading terror.

    I live about 25 miles outside of Birmingham, AL and have great internet service through Charter. Averaging 66 Mbps down /5 Mbps up for about $55/month. Oh, and the television part of the cable service is great, too.

    So how can a semi-rural area in what most would call a backward state have great internet service while a so-called enlightened city like Seattle doesn't? When you figure it out, your eyes will open wide and you'll find yourself awake for the first time in your life. We knew all along!

    Okay, now imagine a self-driving car with sensors that are that unreliable. Instead of having a car that won't start or that has some minor function not working, you have a car that takes itself over a cliff with you and your family inside.

    I can tolerate a few annoyances, but I draw the line at death.

    It's not just Obama. Governments from the time there were governments have wanted their citizens to be unarmed. The reason you hear from the pro-gun lobby periodically is that without vigilance the government (no matter who is in charge) will try to disarm the citizens. A right not defended is a right lost.

    Yes, we have a lot of guns in this country, but nobody can point to one new law that would have prevented the last terrorist attack or the shootings in Sandy Hook. What's needed is strict enforcement of the laws WE ALREADY HAVE. But nobody in government wants to do that. It doesn't fit in with their agenda of disarming us.

    I know many blacks who are sick of Obama. Does that make them ignorant or racist? Obama's incompetence has made even Jimmy Carter's Presidency look good.

  17. I've used numerous computers for years and I've never shit down one yet. There's a small room not far from me that is meant for that kind of activity. I shudder to think what the inside of a computer would look like, much less smell like, after you've shit down it multiple times.

    "Well regulated militia" means well-trained, not the kind of overbearing regulations our government is famous for. The men who wrote it knew what it meant, even if some of you don't. Back then armies lined up in neat rows and columns to fight. They had to practice marching and turning and firing as a group. A mass of civilians in an unorganized group would not have fared well against an organized army. THAT is the reason for wanting a "well regulated militia"!

    Localized food production? Like how are you going to grow enough food to feed New York City by growing in or near New York City? Not much arable land and a short growing season add up to not much food.

    I'm all for buying locally grown produce, but I live in a mostly rural state that grows a LOT of food. There's a reason that most food is grown in areas with low populations - it takes a lot of space to grow crops.

    0bama hasn't been doing his job since he first took office. He apparently has an aversion to actually doing anything, and would rather just talk about it.

    Oh, but he is an accomplished master at vacations and playing golf (like most Presidents).

    We may actually be better off with a President and Congress who don't get much accomplished, because just look at all the bad stuff they do when they get around to doing something.

    My advice, kids, is to get your panties out a wad and grow up a little before you start demanding stuff. It may not be what you think you're getting.

    Amazon has been in bed with the devil for a couple of years now. Nearly everything I order comes by USPS - the slowest, least reliable delivery service on Earth. The Post Office doesn't seem to understand that this is their last best chance to stay relevant and possibly get out of the red. Nope, they're sticking to their old ways - yesterday's technology delivering your packages tomorrow (or next week).

    Drones are still in the earliest stage of development, so there's no telling how they will fare in a few years. Maybe they will take over most deliveries, maybe not.

    The ISIS leader is not about to bomb any Syrian oil facilities. He refused for a long time to bomb any oil transport trucks on the lame excuse that some of the drivers might be civilians! Really?
