Well, the fact that google ads are there doesn't proove anything yet. First of all, that guy could not know that this site will attract such huge attention, and secondly - maybe he's just trying to get some money back (from what he wasted on laptop).
Regaring disputes - all inquiries and questions are logged in eBay, when you send question, complaint or whatever to seller. So thats the place to check first, imho.
there is difference - 7.1 receivers in same price segment will perform worse (in terms of sound quality) than 5.1, not even speaking about stereo (stereo amplifiers usually can be compared to receivers that have 2x price).
This is because price per channel - the more channels and various decoder electronics you put, the less buget you have for sound quality (cheaper tranistors, capacitors, poweer supply, etc.)
