Being on-call 24/7 doesn't also imply "365 days a year". I have been, and still am, on-call 24/7 but only one week at a time followed by at least one week off, and I am compensated.

    Captain Gumption here.

Yes, a private citizen should get to decide how he's monitored.

I find the idea that he mentions being "more honest and open" indicates that he's worried about PC police as much as copyright infringement. The belligerent left is really beginning to destroy art and free expression from all directions.

  4. And where would you put it? How would you cool it?

  5. This may surprise you, but a 1990s/2000s Grand Marquis/Town Car/Crown Vic is nothing like a 1959 Bel Air.

  6. I doubt anything made now has a trunk like the old Panthers. I would have suggested a Taurus but you already eliminated all the Fords. Tesla model S? Otherwise, you're looking at a crossover.

  7. Because I'm sure new Fords in 2016 are exactly like used ones in 1987.

Frankly, early Hyundais were terrible. You were lucky. It's not hard to find people who got screwed on them.

  8. You're talking about icloud, so you must have an iPhone but I must note I had the same problem with an Android phone and a non-Ford Bluetooth speakerphone, and it was the fault of Android. Android apparently has a "feature" that can't be turned off, where if you attach a sound device it automatically plays sound files. I had to install a shim program that auto-selects sources, simply to block it. It might not be a Ford thing.

  9. I had no idea. I have a Kenwood stereo that automatically connects, and a Jabra speakerphone that does the same. Never even bother to switch it on or off, it just reconnects once I'm in the car.

  10. And most of them are suicides, or cops shooting people.

  12. What you said makes no sense. Expecting your government to manage the acceptance of refugees is not the same as inviting them into your home. Inviting the homeless into your home is charity. Most of us can't accommodate that, but we perform service work or make donations.

Meanwhile, in Europe, the average citizen performs very little charity, figuring that their high taxes count.

  13. Indeed. I pay $10 for HD (why is this an OPTION), $5 for a box, $3 for local sports (yes, really, this is a thing).

  14. Same here, although that may be because I don't-- can't-- bundle, because I have Comcast Business internet. I'm planning on dumping the TV account and buying the Elite tier on Vue. I would still have access to the few shows I really watch (some require Elite), but save $60 a month. I would only be giving up the ability to save shows indefinitely on their cloud DVR, and CBS, which I could get with an antenna (I already own a good one). Oh, and History, which would suck but I can get Sling if I'm not happy with watching the shows on the web site, yet still pay $40 less than with Comcast.

  21. Usually, we have a company that makes garbage no one wants, so when they liquidate they have a ton of stock. This is unfortunate... and stupid, because it seems like they should have taken SOME KIND of action before they had nothing to sell.

I wonder exactly how terrible they are when they have a product with a solid demand, yet no one will invest in them. There has to be embezzlement.

That's kind of where I was on this. I'm amazed that the manufacturers would cheat like this in order to drop their annual usage cost estimate by a dollar. Because that's about all it should be. Even with any power saving features off, these 55" screens use far less than your 32" CRT screen used.
