You of course think that you are part of some great revolution, participating in some great collective disobedience when, in fact, you are a simple criminal. The fact is that by downloading a movie off the internet you are participating in a crime. By uploading a movie on the internet for millions to share, you are participating in a crime. And I HAVE TO PAY MORE because people like you find downloading movies justifiable.

I second the grandparent's question. urpmi is an excellent packaging tool, up there with apt-get. It actually resolves conflicts and dependancies. You must be thinking of rpm around 97/98. Things have moved on, you know.

The sony PSX is neither competing with nor complementing the PS2. It is a PVR with a HD that aspires to being a good place for your media to be centrally stored. The lack of certain features bring the featureset of this beast down to Sony's DVD recorders, the GX3 and the GX7, and that is not a bad thing per se. I own the gx3 and even though the lack of mp3 and svcd is a bit disappointing, it has the best recording and playback quality in the business, excellent media support (will burn to anything but dvd+rw and the useless in Europe DVD-RAM) and excellent aftersales support (in Europe at least, from what I hear the US is a different story). I know a lot of people who cannot wait for the PSX, hoping it will offer something better than Pioneer's and Panasonic's excellent HD/DVD recorders, and if they keep the recording quality to GX3/7 standards, they can't lose - as an indication the GX7 was voted EISA dvd recorder of the year, a very important accolade here in Europe. These people, who will not flinch at spending the 1000-1500 euro selling price, don't care much for the "bonus" package.
So, yes, it doesn't play MP3s? Oh well, if Sony say they will fix it in an update, they WILL fix it. They know how to make music, and they actually have a very good, unobstructive system for copyrighted songs as anyone who has used their NetMD knows. Philips did the exact same thing (upgrades, that is) when they first put out DVD recorders - although quality-wise Sony is miles ahead.
Re: WMDs. The argument was that WMDs were available for launch in 20 minutes. The fact that there is no TRACE of them in the six months after Americans entered Iraqi soil makes me truly question the veracity of the claim. I also find your "global community" approach which, let it be noted, was only served to us when the WMD one failed, laughable. When, may I ask, will the US restore democracy to Saudi Arabia and UAE? They both have bloodthirsty authoritarian regimes but since they serve American interests. Spot the hipocricy.
Re: Bush as Hitler. There are great parallels. Hitler was clearly an insane man, whereas Bush is just a mediocre liar. However, they both used propaganda and elimination of dissent to push their agenda. Bush IS like Hitler in that he has managed to crush all discussion regarding the invasion because "the country has to be united". Not to start speaking of Guantanamo, a concentration camp. One that contravenes not only international law but, unfortunately, all the ideals you Americans cherish. I would also advise you to find and read the proposed "Patriot act II" and see how close your country came to authoritarianism.
