    I remember hearing that GTK# was the way to go WRT the default mono toolkit. Bad idea. GTK on windows is pretty bad. However, I found this project which makes wxWidgets available to mono. Why oh why would you want to use gtk# over wxWidgets (which in turn uses native UI)?

    ....has been running a lot of windows OpenGL demos that I've downloaded at very good speeds. Even the Torque SDK runs over wine (Not that you need to as there is a native version, but it was amazing to see nevertheless). I know l33t users look down their nose at wine, but seeing a windows opengl demo running with music at 568fps in a linux window in X is pretty impressive.

    This is where I'd like to see the EFF, FSF, or heck, even IBM step forward and put up the cash to get this thing Patented. Oh yes, we're all against software patents, except this is where Linux would have one over M$. Give Microsoft free technology and they will always stay ahead of the game through marketing. Create patents that are open for free software and you kill 2 birds with one stone.
