Manufactors of hardware ATA's and phones are going to have to hurry up and start adapting some of the open technologies. On laggy connections GSM and iLBC seem to be the only thing that keep the call smooth during peek hours.
Sipura seem to have no plans.. Snom looks like they are implementing it soon, maybe waiting to implement it properly (LINUX inside) I have not hear anythng from the cisco world?!
We are a business that have a few providers and we have outtages where calls do not come in for 15-30 mins in the day. and its some ware inbetween where the problem is arrising. Only thing we can do is send as detailed info as we can to our providers. We hear our providers are trying to use there weight to solve this problem cause the DID providers don't care.
On dialing out we get moment whre a call does not go through and we learned the only way to prove it to the providers that provider for the VOIP providers we buy our mins from is to send proper info.
here is what I am told.
If you can not dial out you have to make clear to your support that you where dialing the number at exactly this time so they can go trace it in there switch. You have to do this as soon as you knotice the problem. It will give your VOIP provider support team more gusto when they call up places like Global Telecom when they are raving mad.
I hear through the great vine that peoples who work for places like global telecom are plain ignorent to the fact there is a problem and that there is plenty of bandwidth they are just restricting it just because.
Anyone selling a Tv with just linux in it.
My phone runs linux (snom.com) My router (linksys wrt54g)
be nice to find a way to get my tv to run it. my VCR , I had one of thous once. they are these old devices that U put this huge bulky black plastic thing into it and it has rolls of magnetic tape inside. and it puts a crummy copy of what you hit record on on to this tape.. and the stard and ends of these tapes are crummy.

A product thats dieing.. based on Linux... Its cool.. many try to imitate it , frig, if it was opensourced it would be like the wrt54g router. start out with one fork then before you know it have like 5 firmwares and software better then all the original stuff.
Heck the company could start concentrating on hardware and selling just harddware.
Hello out there, can anyone hear me.
Well there pride will die with it then I guess..
It had to be said... From the you-know-its-true-and-would-buy-one-if-you-knew-it -had-Open-source-support-behind-it people.
ahh what was I thinking we live in a world where one can patent something they never made cause its never been patented. and scare people into paying for it. now wait maybe vote for bush..
Will find you heck of alot of facts that make the story of the holicost not sound as bad as it has been pushed to be. in fact if you look realy close you will be shocked.

Look at both sides one is way heavier and its not very heavy on the victims side. None the less this was war.. but why say what they do and teach it to people as the true history..?!
Using it at 10$ for a line a month at $0.016 a min is cheep for cellphonish quality for a fone call or for a toll free...
now if anyone here know of a muilti line sip iax (* compatible) that I can switch between lines easier I am game..
Also while your at it any decent DID canadian phone companies for voip would be nice..
Its good to see that the opensource community gives the big guys a run for there money.. I see alot of little voip peoiple out there and looks like they are enjoying alot of intrest right now...
but who is it that I invest all the money into
lol
Cogeco A smaller Canadian Highspeed cable company is passing on letters for Kazaa use and get this Bittorrent, Direct connect, Donkey(emule). Once thought to be impossible now being threatened. I Have recieved one and numourus otheres I know have also got emails.(email posted DSLreports) I thought canada was protected from being taken advantage of from big companies like MGM They should have no authority to do anything here in Canada. yet Cogeco is passing these letters on and threatening possible actions. Can they do this in canada? I thought like kazaa they had to download the entire file from you before they could sumit a request are they randomly targeting users cause last time I checked I would have to leave my bittorrent on and running for a long while before I gave someone 100%. Cogeco maybe falling into a legal trap by reponding to such letters by possibly helping grow the fear of a lawsuit. They fear actions(weather or not the companies have a right or not in canda) and put the stress on the user. Has any thing happened beyond the letter? Rogers users and sympatico users don't seem to be effected. is this a way to go after the little guy first or is the big wigs like rogers and sympatico just ignoring the requests does anyone out there know? Anyone else recieve a threat letter?
-Ogg good (free and better, video hopefully better!)
-evil stream law bad
Although eventually someone (Hopefully!) will breakup the monopolistic back scratching. sounds to me that the fellow who got this letter is not aware of the big boys (tv deals!)
We are a small company looking to stream video of local events in our local municipalities. We where looking for a good open source solution for streaming video and radio. we are shocked to hear this.
What is a good Ogg Linux open source solution?
What is the licensing fees?
We like the idea that Ogg is free and look forward to June 2003 date!
