Maps aside, Prima has just plained sucked in recent years. Compare the MOO 1 (Master of Orion) hint book to MOO 3 both published by Prima. The MOO 1 book was practically a design document, the only thing better would have been source code. MOO 3 on the other hand didn't even match the released game. That another reason why GameFaqs is so popular (besides being free). Take for instance FF 7, there isn't guides for sale as complete as the fans' versions. I would buy strategy guides again if they just made them worth a damn and have all the pretty (and worthless) screen shots being used for filler. Picture of where the hidden item = useful. Picture of Samus in "new" suit = fucking worthless.
Since Infogrames (we had to change our name to Atari cause Infogrames was just plain stupid. Not that Atari has been "Atari" in years) own Microprose, why not remake the original Master of Orion? Nothing too fancy, just graphics, fix how those slider bars worked some, and allow customizable races. Maybe others, but damnit.. it's still better than MOO3. Maybe I should stop bitching and just buy Galactic Civilizations.
Maybe there is a conspiracy between the Import Tuner people and Tom's Hardware. I think we would find out if we played "Matrix Reloaded" projected on top of "Fast and the Furious". With Vin Disel at the wheel of a Lime Green Eclipse, and Reeves in the back getting a bug sucked out of him.... Oh wait, this is the gay conspiracy.
And makes you wonder... when I eat this mushroom, the walls go psychedelic. I wanta work at Origin! (though I assume they have totally changed from then)
Actually, Jesus stole his ideas from Buddha. And when Buddha went to sue, it came to light from Jesus that Buddha stole his ideas too... from Xenax. Xenax was this little known green dude that forsook the Enlightened Path (and all the royalty rich books that come with it) cause he thought he could make more money in the stick whittling business.
When they took the fourth amendment, I was quiet because I didn't deal drugs. When they took the sixth amendment, I was quiet because I was innocent. When they took the second amendment, I was quiet because I didn't own a gun. Now they've taken the first amendment, and I can say nothing about it.
Personally, I don't feel we invest enough money in the advancement of better porn. You can reply back with some huge amount of money in the industry, but whatever it is... there should be even more.
A crowning achievement of all... except who ever wrote that crap they called music in it.

I'm still bitter about MST, so I barely give Sci-Fi the time of day - much less watch their comercials. Of course, a Mstie tendency is to tape the shows (especially if they show them at 8 in the f*ckin' morning). Good thing Taken is a mini-series (if you want it to last that is), cause that is the only way the show is (somewhat) gauranteed to continue to a decent conclusion.
That or make it "reality" based.

That feature is in SimCity4.
"A new feature of SC4 allows you to import Sims from The Sims (and we just know you own a copy) and move them into a house in your SimCity. Don't worry, even if you don't have The Sims installed, you can still move My Sims into your town (we'll ship some with the game)." Sims + SC4
But check it out, you don't have to own the game. Sweet, I'll just contract out the work of creating Sims to other people. I'll give them some Mayoral kickbacks for funding.
What also might be of interest to the/. crowd is the SimCity4 development page. You'll find more information about the innerworkings of game there than at SimsOnline.
People still love the 2D side scrollers like Castlevania, but no developers have had the balls to make any more on an actual 3D based console since Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
I felt the same way about 2D versus 3D games. While there are points about a 3D/1st person perspective, sometimes you don't want to get all disorientated. The original overhead view of Zelda (non-64 or up&coming GameCube versions) I felt was what made the game what it was. It was defined by it's perspective more than it's character.
This could add a whole dimension to kite fighting. Did anyone else do that as a kid? Duck tape the nose of a delta wing, use light fishing line, and try to destroy other kites. It's sort of like playing chicken or joust. I am not sure how a camera would hold up in combat though.
For real, this was the ultimate co-op genre (of which gaunlet sort-of fits.. again, sort-of)
Don't forget ScummVM, based off Lucas Arts engine. You can use it to code your own.

When I saw that case, I thought .. I need this for Fallout. I NEED this.

But, I haven't looked for levels yet, or played with the app.
ET Themed? I hope it doesn't come with that awful ET game made for the Atari.

I can't take credit, and I am not sure who said it. I stole if off of Lycaeum's website years ago.
