you know i think the same thing at the Astronomy Picture of the Day Archives. some of their hi-res pictures (such as this one) would make GREAT wallpaper. but what am i supposed to do with a 1500x1000 image and still maintain the crispy hi-res-iness (woo i made a word!)?
the new land introduced by this expansion is the Feudal Lands which were originally brought up way back in Ultima I. kinda forgotten since then, but there is a basis they can work with at least.
yeah they're around. i picked up a Doom Collection at walmart for $9 two weeks ago, its Doom, Doom2, and Final Doom with win32 frontends so you can network em and whatnot without havin to revisit the archaic days of ipxsetup.
but yeah they all work with Doomsday so it was a pretty good buy IMO. not sure about Quake1..i see Quake2 in stores still, sometimes in bundles. but havent seen the first one in a while really.
Walmart last week had it for $19. i'm not sure if it was a sale or anything. they had Morrowind with all the expansions for $29 too. good times in bargainland. =)
so i picked up deus ex invisible war for pc because it was $19. yes it was unplayable until i put the patch on, i can see people's beef with that. but this game is really not bad. i mean its by no means a masterpiece, but i'm greatly enjoying playing through it.
yeah, unified ammo is stupid. so is having a 'health bar.' but on the other hand, the voice acting isn't complete crap, which no matter what anyone's ruby lenses tell them, the original's voices were terrible (still love the game though).
i think you're right that people were hard on it just because of it carrying the Deus Ex name, but i dont think its really that bad, so much as its just different, and apparently that bothers people. my $0.02 i guess.
i dunno, i played UO from the time it launched to a few years later (around the time of the running-out-of-room-to-place-houses debacle started). i think the last expansion i played thru was Renaissance.
this kinda makes me want to pick up this anniversary edition and play again, especially since i've completely given up on SWG now as much as it pains me to say that.
i wonder if they intended something like this by including all the expansions and whatnot. anyone else thinkin of doing the same?
much thanks to all three of the above replies to grandparent. i never knew about the compaq bios thing and find that pretty interesting..so i guess 'legal as long as the target doesn't say not to' is about as safe as it gets here.
i'm thinking calling it a 'right' is still a bit of a stretch tho. =)
this month's maxim magazine features three which can. i dont have it with me as i'm at work, but one of them was the new Honda CBR1000RR. the others were a suzuki and a kawasaki but the model numbers are lost on me at the moment. website might have em.
its well withint he realm of possibility, its just nowhere near the realm of good sense. i dont even like putting my bike near 100. =)
i was getting errors when trying to search, but people i was talkin to online elsewhere in the country were fine. my whole office was screwin up.
gmail still works tho, hrm.
woops, that was sorta rude of me not to include a link to the site itself.

good luck bouncing off of buildings with your propeller-powered parachute.
sure it is, alanis.
there's no saving us, all we can do is pretend that anything Uwe Boll has touched never actually existed.
haha this reminds me of a stupid petition a forum i was at threw together after the release of HOTD. i think this is right
the greatest post in the history of slashdot and my mod points disappeared unused last night. this makes me a sad panda.
i'll never be able to hear that song again without thinking of all that nonsense now. =)

whoa that was kinda offtopic eh?
this better get modded up in a hurry. and you /.ers call yourselves nerds! *grumble*
clearly written + linux == hilarity, and everything else claming to be a joke before this post wasn't, i love it.
posting from linux, everyone calm down.
The above is a test.
heh, had me wonderin up till there. =)
its always unfair when used against you, especially if you tried it first. just like gradeschool recess games/sports.

and here i was under the assumption that it was (technically) illegal. anyone care to fill in the gaps for me?

by your logic, a honda civic could do the same thing at $200/mo and 38mpg.
i'll take the supercar, thanks. if you can afford a million dollar car, methinks gas, insurance costs and traffic fines are of little concern. =)
