Oh, come on. Even if this were the case (that using a CD drive to read CDs ruins it), then a CD drive is _still_ only worth a couple of overpriced albums at today's prices. It's not like it's even real money at that point in time anyway...
While I can see it's annoying (hell, it's inconvenient for me too), I don't think it's fair to say that they broke the covenant. We still have the source and can continue with that. As mentioned above, it could well turn out better. And I wish them luck with their closed source version too.
I was meaning it as a joke, yes:) There were no umlauts or accents or anything with Mr Darko Arso's name, so I can only assume that it is pronounced how it looks.
Interesting. I don't find the button size to be an issue; I probably use all of the others more than the send button. I don't know that I've ever clicked the send button at all really, that's why I have an enter key;)
For the love of god children, look at his other posts if you aren't a regular reader of el reg. All of his stories are piss takes, anybody taking him even slightly serious is a fucking nutbar. You've been trolled, it's just a (very vaguely) reputable site that did it.

Sorry, my laziness prevents me from checking it out:) Seriously, what's wrong with Gaim's interface though? Admittedly, I've been using it for years, but it seems to cover everything I want bar text messages.
What society are you referring to? It would be hard work for a company to fire me for accidentally viewing porn in the society I live in - New Zealand.
I'm happy for them to charge different prices for different tracks. This can easily be achieved by leaving the Britney crap at the 99c mark and dropping the prices for everything that I want to listen to down to the 20c mark. Then I might buy something.
At least, if I weren't in New Zealand, where you can't buy anything from itunes.
Interesting; my understanding is that expelling you would be illegal, so if they did, you could probably challenge it. What school was it, if you don't mind me asking?
I wonder how they would even know; it's not like the cops are going to notify universities of a conviction. And if I were the student, I certainly wouldn't bother:)
It always amazes me how much power US universities / colleges have over their students. Here in New Zealand it's almost impossible to be expelled from any tertiary institution; cheating and sleeping with your lecturers is about the only things I can think of. You can commit any crime you like, so long as you manage to get out in time to get enough marks to pass, you're fine.
What business is it of their's what you do in your spare time? Their concern should be your education; nothing else.
I think you're overlooking the fact that your normal, paper / voting machine votes can be directly linked to who voted for whom anyway; what's the difference if they can be more easily associated electronically?
So the world average is 3 hours a day? That's scary enough, I average 10 minutes a week. How does your average american find time to do anything aside from eat, work, watch tv and sleep?

Second that. We like it this way - it's stinking hot in Wellington today and I want it to stay that way for my Christmas break.
Links? I live in NZ and keep an eye out for that sort of shite - and we don't see much of it at all.

... welcome our new chinese overlords. Better than the old ones...

"Arangel Angov met with Darko Arso, Technology Integration Manager at the Education Development Center..."
"...in touch with Darko Arsov and arranged a one-on-one interview..."
Arsov doesn't work nearly as well ;)
I was meaning it as a joke, yes :) There were no umlauts or accents or anything with Mr Darko Arso's name, so I can only assume that it is pronounced how it looks.
Remove the 'o' characters - Dark Ars
Add an 'e' to clarify pronunciation - Dark Arse
I think someone is being taken for a ride...

And those who infringe copyright are not funding that model. So good on them :)
The standard is 443, but you can run it wherever you like.
Ha, nice one :) Unfortunately I think it flew straight over the heads of anyone who isn't a kiwi.
Mods on crack? Surely that's a joke, not a troll.
Maybe that's an idea for an advertising campaign - "Come study in NZ, where we won't expel you for graffiti."
I wonder how they would even know; it's not like the cops are going to notify universities of a conviction. And if I were the student, I certainly wouldn't bother :)

Well, you know; most of us thought that the Patriot act allowed so much it would be impossible to actually breach!

No, no, I'm pretty certain he _is_ an idiot. It's the others around him with the brains.
That's almost your entire day gone. What a life!
