  1. Re:100MB? on Virgin Promises 100Mbps Connections To UK Homes · · Score: 1

The thing about Virgin's top tier bandwidth offerings is that there are no download caps, as far as I know. There's certainly no bandwidth crippling in place, which the other tiers suffer from.

  5. Re:Use Lynx, then you won't have a problem... on The Successor To Popunder Ads? · · Score: 1

Glad you liked the list. I just want to point out something about the other two lists posted. First, there's no point in listing ad1.doubleclick.net, ad2.doubleclick.net, etc etc. They're already all blocked, because the doubleclick.net domain is on there. so *.doubleclick.net will be blocked. Secondly, a lot of the hostnames are dead. Also, the akamai servers are not just used by one company, so adding them can cause you to lose content from other sites. Would have been nice if you'd sent me your lists in the first place! But never mind, they'll get added now.

I don't know about you, but the new slashdot site crashed my browser (Netscape 4.08 on FreeBSD 3.4) every time I tried to load it. I just turned off java & javascript and it seems to be working now. Odd, I wouldn't have thought that a simple server change would be cause that kind of effect - maybe it's just a coincidence or something, but it does seem strange that slashdot worked fine up until today. Netscape under FreeBSD is horribly buggy though, it doesn't really surprise me.
