Because the companies backing both formats have put too much money into developing and promoting them to just give them up. That's the way business goes.
If you want to get really anal about, you don't download anything from the internet. You download from a machine connected to the internet ("The internet" is just a network).
"Today, Microsoft announced that there new OS release, codenamed 'Longhorn', will be named Microsoft Infinity. In other OS news, Linux kernel Infinity+1 was released. Nya nya nya nya, nya nya!"
I think most people will either be scared into settling, or not have enough money to pay for litigation and court costs. Although it's nice that there is a way around the RIAA's mass suing, how often will this technique really be used...
The images are brought to you by your computer as well. The internet isn't only what you see on web pages, you know. Also, messenger isn't a way for the computer to talk to you. Computers are just set up to send out thousands of messages to random ip's, much like spam.
"If you try to fail and succeed, which have you done?"
"Regarding your.sig :
I would say you have failed. Because you have failed to achieve your goal of failing."
You misinterpreted the sig. They're saying that if I try to fail a test and succeed in failing it, what have I done?
I find the question creative, but whoever thought of it did not realize that there exists a definite answer. It's creative in all of the success and failure being the same thing and whatever. There is an answer, though, and that is that you have done both. You have succeded to fail. It's not contradictory because the success refers to the successful attempt to fail. The failing refers to whatever action you were trying not to complete.
It is not simply success either, because although you have succeded your goal of failing, you still failed.

Yes, but the network they were building had great potential, and those working on it knew that. I don't think that people engineering a car to conform to the shape of your butt are envisioning great social and technological advances.
"... Since they're planning to integrate it further into Longhorn..."
Actually, they're dropping IE and integrating the MSN browser into Longhorn. Horrible idea in my opinion, because I cannot stand the new MSN browser.
Those factors would affect any connection, from fiber to ISDN. I'm sure it will last a long time, since they're building a whole new network for it.
Out of the hundreds of DVD's I've burned, I've had very few (maybe 2-3) coasters. How is that mediocre?
oops right now right now right now right now I should watch what I type more often.

Get Ritek DVD-/+Rs. They're the best, most reliable quality discs on the market right now. Amazon has some deals on them right now.

Wtf, I meant to post this in reply to comment 7400899, which was:
You don't honestly expect me to "upgrade" from Linux 9.0 to Linux 1.0 do you? At this rate we'll never catch Windows 2000.
