Well Mr Jones of 7701 Harbour Views - that's where you're wrong and since you voted for the WRONG candidate we're coming for you! Look out the black helo - right about now!
To add to the list:
In Vista my HP printer driver refuses to tell me how much ink my printer has left - genuine cartridges and all! Not sure whose fault that is but its just one of the dozen or so other things that saw me head back to XP on any machines that I don't need Vista for work purposes.
Other reasons:
Crap load times despite GBs of RAM
Slow text entry on many in-browser forum post pages (Slashdot works fine happily)
Takes ages to open a window with several video files
And many more....
Perhaps since media luminaries are turning their backs on the OS it would be good to see a concerted press campaign calling for Vista to be ditched... see those MS ad dollars run away!
I think Dick Pound (best name ever) and the World Anti-Doping Agency were against letting Vista into the Olympics after hearing you needed a PC on steroids to run it.
But go Microsoft!
In other news, recently retired and newly-made Billionaire judge dies in auto wreck while trying to put ripped Van Halen CD in his Ferrari stereo!
And, funnily enough, the Judge in the MS case has just overturned the original decision.
Leaving Alcatel hopping mad at the whole patent madness

And they'd have to remove the scene in Die Hard (1988) where John McLane types Holly's name (Generro) into the touchscreen at the lobby in Nakatomi Plaza...
Any more (literally) art prior to this????
At least it was just nerds chasing her: What happened to journalists going after the KKK, NRA nuts, Soccer Hooligans and 'really' dangerous people who could have lynched her, then posted her entrails back to NBC.
Instead they go after dodgy accountants, geeks and other types that you can stalk without much risk. A brisk jog across the car park and she'd soon have shaken them off. Put her on a really hard case next week; Dateline - 'We go after Bin Laden with a blonde American dumbass'
As someone who writes for the lowest level of PC user, I'd say strip out the 70% of Vista features - the ones that 95% of users never use.
That should make it a leaner, faster OS. Build genuine new stuff into that environment - stuff that advances how we use computers - organic and evolving 3D desktops, start developing desktop handles for this symantec web malarky now and it should be ready for release in, oh, 8 years.
Airbus just lost billions and spent 18months rewiring their A380 planes... now maybe this is why - extra signal insulation so we can read chickenhawk blogs and download dubious content - go the mile-high one-hand club.
Remember most Japanese only have one television set in the house... I'm not sure on the take up of PVRs over there but I guess they're taping all the 'good' stuff for later.
As an ex-UK Ed I'd like to point out that a lot of who have fallen off the shrinking magazine bandwagon-ette are heading into books (of the paper variety) as a source of income, be it tutorial, tech historical or perspective.
No advertising required and the reader really has to make a buying decision - Maybe some folk, are looking in the wrong direction for their views? Reading as a solo experience anyone?
Younger/.ers will probably soon wonder exactly what we used paper for anyway...
Even by Microsoft standards, this is good.
Applied the latest patches and our office router exploded seconds later, smoke, crackle and pop!
"Hi, I'm Henry Silva, tonight on Bullshit or not?"
Curses, how about if they were caught in a whirlpool and sucked down into the deep where they become trapped in a layer of water with a higher salinity/density that kept them trapped where the Blue whales normally feed?
Or the giant squid have been coming up and collecting them as presents for their plankton buddies
Or just make it the species of surface feeding whale of your choice?
I dunno, some people are never satisfied with an off the cuff joke...
This story is cute now, but the world won't be so happy when the first batch of Blue whales wash up, dead from clogged Baleen plates full of plastic ducks...
As a Bournemouth resident on the South-West of England - we've got seven miles of beach and about 21 square miles of sea to scan for these buggers...
So I need a hi-res, hi-zoom camera with Duck recognition software built-in... any ideas?
Note - this is better than the last cargo-container wreck on our shores which washed up tonnes of dog biscuits and shampoo... Further down the coast they got BMW motorbikes falling out the surf - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/devon/6665465.s tm lucky swines!
You don't really need a computer to figure that lot out do you?
We didn't do regime change in the first Gulf War for a lot of very good reasons that were expressed at the time by the likes of Colin Powell. Those arguments (civil war, reglious hatred, factional fighting, corrupt officials) were ignored for the 2nd Gulf War and look what happened. No computers were involved in that process, just idiots.
Since people are never ready for business, it all seems a bit of a waste of time. Employee-ready business on the other hand... once the life and soul has been kicked out of them, that should just about do it.
Just for reference, will sell on my blog for Skittles... yum Skittles...

I figure less than 1% of all PC users overclock or even know it exists as a feature. All the high-end PC hardware mags I've seen got very low sales figures and most forums are just a collection of die-hards and a horde of hanger-on fanbees - as a sport it just helps the buzz that makes the industry go round.
I don't mind these Noddy upgrade releases, it just means the lower end parts will be a little cheaper when I run down to the store for my next upgrade.
Dear Mac users,
If Steve Jobs wants to dream bigger than your tiny little corner, niche, segment-ette of the market, that's fine by us. I doubt you will be taking that tone when OS-X for PCs is finally announced and Microsoft starts the long slide into Dodo-land.
Love,
PC Users.
P.S. As it is, I use Safari on Mac and Firefox on PC and Firefox is by far the more comfortable in use.
Only if you want to send the spooky psyche of the brick over; the jolly, perky side remains where it was. Psychosis for bricks... I can see the lawsuits now.

iPhone uses batteries? I though it ran off Job's mojo... damn!
Surely Steve's attitude leaves no room for the No sh*t Sherlock button that articles like this require?

Microsoft to prostitution in ten posts, is that a record?

And for Britishers, http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html ?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=1 19303&_LOC=UK gets you an X1950Pro with 512Mb for £90, some pence and free delivery.
I was looking forward to trying Hellgate/Bioshock with a DX-10 card but will stick with 9 until some sort of sense can be made of the new cards.

Someone define 'outcome' first and then we'll talk...
