post them someplace "unslashdotable."
I didn't think such a place existed.

iText is great - I just started using it myself about a week ago in one of my projects (see link in sig) and it took me no time at all to output some nice PDFs.
Buy a domain with any registrar, then do the DNS hosting for free with Zoneedit.com - they will route the http requests to you AND they will forward all mail sent to your domain to any email address you choose. I use them for 5 domains and heartily recommend them.
From the slashdot page - "The Fine Print: The following comments are owned by whoever posted them. We are not responsible for them in any way." So slashdot covered their own @$$e$
Mailinator isn't quite what the original poster is looking for, but it *IS* very cool. I wrote a free program to pull emails from Mailinator.com and send them to any other email address. If interested, more details and the download for Nator are here
Have you released this "graphical mp3 juke-box player (like for drunk people at parties)"? Is it available online to try out? Sounds interesting - I'd like to check it out.
Now the poor girl has no MP3s? Someone should raise money to buy her a gift certificate to her local music store to buy legal CDs of all the music she had to delete.
>It's so sad to see all of those favorites collected in one spot like that.
Why is it sad? You should be happy that they are in the hands of a collector who will preserve them and not destroy them by making MAME machines.
If you love the classic arcade games that much, go get yourself one (though they are like Lay's - you can't have just one). You can find some REALLY good deals on them if you know where to look. I now have 20 (give or take) full games and LOTS of parts. My
garage is my personal arcade:)
He is famous in the arcade video game collecting world. He has done more to preserve old arcade games and related material than probably anyone else (Well, except Al Kossow maybe). For further info, check out the Google archives of rec.games.video.arcade.collecting.
No, he didn't build his own *arcade*. He built his own arcade game or video arcade game (actually, it's a MAME machine). An arcade is a place that houses arcade games - AKA a gameroom.
Sorry, using tinyurl.com is a habit for me. It's no trouble since I have the quicklink on my toolbar that creates tinyurl for whatver page is showing. I didn't realize tinyurl was frowned upon on slashdot. (I rarely post). Won't happen again. Here is the full link to the Nator info:
If you like Mailinator, check out a program I recently wrote called Nator - it uses Mailinator as a backend and it can scrape the email on mailinator.com and send it to your home email address. It also does some cool things with random usernames. Details
here. It's free, written in Java, and is open source (or will be once we're out of the beta phase)

You can make CD sculptures by using Coinstruction sets - just use CDROMs instead of coins. I made one with AOL CDs. Turned out great. I'm going to hang it above my jukebox in my gameroom.

How about someone rip the MP3s off the CD then anonymously send (via snail mail) them a CDR with the ripped MP3s on it?

Sony abandoned the emarker in September 2001. Cool idea though. Brian
