Use an external USB drive (not the flash drives, but a true HD - maybe 80GB). Many workplaces (mine included) have lockable cabinets in the cubes. Backup your files to your USB drive and lock it in your cube at work. Once a month (or week) take it home and refresh it. Simple and cheap.
If anyone does want/need to pirnt MP3 CD labels, my freeware app, MACCC, (link in sig) can do it. It's a work in progress, but works as-is. It's a Java swing app and I have tested it on (Knoppix) linux, Windows, and I have had users tell me it works on a Mac too.
At least with SnapStream, the webpage to get to the boradcast is password-protected. As the admin, you can setup users in the webpage GUI. So, the stream isn't available to the world by default.
Yes, SnapStream will do it. I downloaded ther 30-day trial and was able to watch the ACC tournament at work with it by streaming cable from my cable internet connection:). it's nto perfect though. Download the trial and see how it works for you.
Try iRate it's a Java app that downloads free MP3s off the net and lets you rate them so that it knows what kind of music you like. Great way to find new music you like. Most are indie bands.
I'm in Raleigh too and my wife drinks diet Pepsi every now and then. She gave me two "winning" caps. I redeemed the two songs only becasue I got a $20 iTunes GC elsewhere.
I use a free, non-ad version of ultimatezip (2.7 beta 3) and have for a year or so now. Unzips EVERYTHING I have tried. If you want full functionality with no ad, try and find 2.7b3 (if you can't find it, I have the install for it squirreled away and can share)

Or, just put a mini fridge in the room with the TV. Problem solved and it's a lot cheaper.
If the trackball/shafts are a common size and you can take the trackball apart, you can get replacements for them at many arcade parts sites - http://www.arcadeshop.com is one of those sites. I got replacement rollers and a new ball for my Centipede from arcadeshop and it works like new now.
I have been using Jinzora for about 3 weeks now and it does all of what you need and more. It's a free PHP app that doesn't require a DB backend. Just extract it and run the setup webpages. Really easy to setup and use and the developer is very receptive to bug reports and feature requests. Give it a try.

4. Get rid of Outlook and Outlook Express. These two email programs are major security holes. There is little that Thunderbird can't do for email, and for scheduling use something like the old Lotus Approach or Microsoft Schedule+.

I just moved 2 nnumbers from one carier to another (same geographic location though) took almost 3 weeks for the entire thing to happen - they said they were having system problems. They finally got it working though.
It does everything the ZVUE does and LOTS more and it has a huge developer following and TONS of apps you can DL for free like console/arcade emulators, MP3 players, PIMs, etc. )

I was thinking the same thing. He mentions using OSS to get the tags the way he likes them then plays them with WMP. There are plenty of free (and some are OSS) players. I run Windows and NEVER use WMP to play ANYTHING.
I just got a T720 with Cingular about a month ago. I did some research online and found out how to put anything I want on the phone - Java games, Java apps, ringtones, and images. (http://www.howardforums.com has lots of good links/info). I can even put my own Java programs on there too (I'm a Java developer). I can put them on my phone directly with a cheap USB cable I got on ebay (50 cents plus shipping) and some software I downloaded (PST).
So far, I'm very happy with the T720 - the only negative is it takes about 30 seconds for the phone to boot up - other than that it's been great.
My cat chewed through the same speaker wire probably 5 times in a 2 week span (and the splicing took the wire from 5 feet down to about 2). I took some Texas Pete hot sauce and coated/painted the wires with it then let it dry. Once it dried, I put it back and she hasn't touched them since. I think there is some stuff for pets called "Bitter Apple" spray(?) that does the same thing - tastes awful and they won't chew what you put it on.
I just got a Motorola T720 ($25 phone after rebates) and it runs Java (games) - has a nice big screen too. There are plenty games out there to play around wit hand the dev kit is free (from Sun). www.colinfahey.com has lots of good info. I'm a Java developer so I will probably try writing a game for it in the near future.
And if you want/need the email from a mailinator account in your regular email account, you can use Nator - it scrapes email from mailinator.com and sends it to an email address you specify. It can also create a random email address at mailinator.com for you that you can use in a webform then it will monitor that random address and send it to you when you get an email. Nator is written in java and freeware.
even quicker - go to google and do a search for the word test. Now bookmark the results. Go to Manage Bookmarks and edit that book mark. Change the name to something like "Google Quicksearch". Edit the location field and relace the word test with %s . Change the keyword to g.
Now, to do a search, you can type g folowed by the word(s) to search for and hit enter. You can similarly make one for the "I'm feeling lucky" feature at google.
This trick works for many websites. I have a Quick Searches bookmark folder that has quick searches for Google, Google Lucky search, dictionary.com, and mailinator.com.
You had to lock up your laptop at your family reunion?
And if you like mailinator.com, try Nator - it pulls email from mailinator and sends it to your own Inbox. Cross-platform and free!

Go to your local thrift store - get a used keyboard for $1.

That's just freakin' cool. Nice job!

Zoneedit does this too but he said "I'm wanting a do it myself solution". Brian
