as in the past though, I expect Microsoft will offer free upgrades to Vista for systems purchased in the last 60-90 days, I know they did this when XP came out.... Then again, what do I care, I Just loaded FC5 up on my spanking new computer...!!

  3. Not QUITE TRUE! on Microsoft to Disable Online Windows Activation · · Score: 1

    this isn't EXACTLY true....

they are deactivating Internet authorization of MAJOR OEM COA's...let me quote directly from the most recent Microsoft System Builder Newsletter...

"On February 28, Microsoft® will disable Internet activation for all Microsoft Windows® XP product keys located on the Certificates of Authenticity (COA) labels distributed by large, multinational OEMs." (Italics Mine.)

in other words...only the volume licence COA from such vendors as Dell, HP etc...granted this is about 80% (my estimate) of all system sales...but its not gonna affect EVERYONE....only those that buy stand alone COA's on E-Bay and from other vendors.

I'm Currently doing a Nielson diary this week, when they called they asked if I have a DVR, which I do (Myth DOES count!) The diary itself though is POORLY Designed. This is not the first time I've done a Tv Diary, its just a list of days and times where you list the channel watched...with an additional page at the end for shows recorded but watched later... theres no way to list shows from two months ago that I've recorded, but not watched... and they even call a DVR a DVD (digital video Device) so they have a LONGGGGG way to go yet.. gotta go and update yesterdays viewing ...

doing some further research I found this in a NASA newsletter...
"The OIG's investigative arm conducts criminal and regulatory investigations in which NASA is a victim. Recently, we have investigated: MOON ROCKS Finally, in an ongoing investigation we seized a desk set that allegedly contained scraps of lunar material. The set, which was owned by a dealer in rare objects, had originally been given to a retiring NASA engineerin 1970. Against NASA policy, the engineer's coworkers had worked some scraps of lunar materials into the desk." Newletter HERE strange that its being acutioned, but NASA Seems to have previously confiscated it???? I know I won't be bidding...not that I could :))
