Take a look at the Goople Directory of programming languages, or at Wikipedia's list. There are so many of them. There are also more languages that are missing from those lists. The truth is that C/C++/C#/Java/VB/Perl/PHP are the most used. The biggest number has C++. It has been like this for years. People like the freedom of the C based languages. You can write the ugliest code in them, like most people do, and the most beautiful code, if you take the time to format it. The only thing useful from a new language is something that you can bring to a newer version of a used programming language. Without a backing of a huge corporation or a huge number of people, no new language would be used. If Anders Hejlsberg would have create C# as his pet project, it wouldn't have gone anyware. Since MS is advertising the language, it has success. It is the same for the rest of them.
I am interested in G4 TV but don't have it. It will be cool if TechTV merged with G4, and got rid of stupid programming like Unscrewed. I only watch TechTV when they have sweepstakes, and even then for just a few minutes since they use the same times to show the codes. TechTV is just plain boring.
Since the Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox project has started, I haven't cared about Mozilla as a whole. I have only cared about Gekko, which is the major part of Firefox. My question is, how does this Mozilla release affects Firefox?
For those of you that do not know, there is Visual Component Framework (VCF) at vcf.sf.net. The author of VCF is in the same boat as many of you. He likes Qt very much, bud does not like the price associated with it, thus he created VCF which has the goal of working on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. Right now it works on Windows, parts of it work on Linux and OS X. VCF is free and has the BSD licence.
I saw this a couple of days ago on CNET. Anyway, it seems to me that the capitalist market has turned from innovation, bright minds, and competition in research labs to tribunals and law suits. This is getting ridiculous. The only people who seem to benefit is the armies of lawyers. The demand for corporate lawyers, which get $650/hour seems to get greater and greater. Everybody knows how real does its business; a few days ago there was an article on slashdot. Most people run from Real's products like they contain the plague. One of my favourite sites (www.bbc.co.uk) is using real and I hate that!
Linux sucks, open source sucks! You people destroy the economy! Your software is shitty! You are a CANCER! DIE, DIE, DIE.....COMERCIAL SOFTWARE LIVE LIVE LIVE!
My guess is that this "advanced technology" is just a database of hashes of many music files. If a file has its hash in that database, they client does't allow it to be uploaded. I could be wrong, it might be more sophisticated than that, but I doubt it.
There is much to be gained from this, since something that can power your house for years can save you a lot of money. Also electric towers that are known to produce cancers can be removed. Billions of kilometres of cable can be removed. No more huge blackouts. There is also something to be lost in this for the power companies which they won't take lightly.
They still have't made it support windows xp themes. Besides the useless crap ms puts in office with each new release, they also make it preaty, wich makes it look new and shiny and different, which drives a lot of people in upgrading/buying and also drives the widgets component industry that emulate the office look and sell for $700+. At least make it support xp and make MS give it the "Designed for Windows XP Logo". I think I tried to put name.exe.manifest on 11 or 10 ones and it crashed.

Let us strap a human to it and sing "The Rocket Man"!

I wonder if they are running a Debian based or Debian itself, and Debian has another hole in it.

Screw that ugly peace of junk, everybody move to ASP.NET!
I'm sorry, but watching videos on a small screen is just plain stupid. Paying 400 pounds (733.671 USD, 592.394 EUR) for it is even stupider.
Linux can't sell free software, why would they even try to sell software $$$$. Open Source products are inferior.
Why don't you write stuff that is used in the real world: C, C++, ObjC, C#.
I haven't followed the law suits, but is that hard drive a true 400 GB one?

How many spamers are celebrating the 10th anniversary in a tribunal or jail?

The game experiance on an XBOX is much better than on a PS2 since it has better graphics!
Are they the first company to be scammed by SCO?
