First, I think it's important to note that Anand was instructed to not use the Det50s in his tests because they failed to render fog in the demos, which would obviously impact performance.
Second, check out this image quality comparison over at DriverHeaven with Aquamark 3. It sure looks to me like nVidia is back to their old tricks again.
The Pentium-M is more of a PIII/P4 hybrid (why reinvent the wheel?). It uses a 400Mhz FSB which is compatible with the P4 bus and has SSE2 support. On the other hand, it has a shorter pipeline than the P4 (though longer than the PIII). Of course, the biggest boost to the P-M's performance is the 1MB of L2 cache (2MB once Intel switches to 90nm fabbing).
So yeah, basically it's a PIII core with P4 enhancements plus some new stuff (better power management, more cache, etc).
I'm also curious as to why the release docs say to use Java 1.4.2 beta rather than 1.4.1_2 which is the latest stable release.

Would it really come as a surprise if browser spoofing became a standard feature in future versions of Mozilla? After all, it already is supported in plugin form and (IIRC) in some browsers based on the Mozilla core.
Reminds me of when Adam Corolla and Jimmy Kimmel were still doing the Man Show. They went out one day getting women to sign a petition to end women's suffrage and many women were signing without even realizing what that meant. Hilarious stuff:)
I didn't think that the scene itself detracted (highlighting some of the things that make us human), but the length I thought got out of hand. Good idea, but WAY too long.
Thank you for posting this! Anybody who's familiar with the r3mix fiasco should know all about how far spectrum analysis gets you. It's bad science!
Check out the forums over at www.hydrogenaudio.org for way more info on the topic.
While I understand what you're trying to get at, USB is far from an ideal solution. First off, USB speakers have indeed been created (Microsoft had some), but the problem is the inherant issues with USB itself. High resource usage, bandwidth usage with multiple devices on the same bus, etc...
The closest you're going to get to what you're talking about is a solution like the nVidia SoundStorm with realtime DD5.1 encoding. You could output that digital signal over standard coax or optical SPDIF to a receiver to do the sound processing. Of course, at that point you're spending more money than Joe Blow consumer probably wants to spend;-)
I dunno, I can read it just fine on my 19" screen running at 1600x1200...
But yes, I do believe they could have gone about doing it in a better way regardless;-)
Where did the popup blocking go in the final 1.2 and 1.2.1 builds that was in the 1.2 beta builds? All I see for blocking popups now is under the Javascript prefs, but I'd rather have the option to do it on a site by site basis (or more preferable, create a whitelist of trusted sites and block the rest).
Anybody?

That or they just couldn't afford to develop it anymore because piracy was eroding their sales too much...
Doesn't directly hurt anyone? Tell that to these guys... http://www.soundprobe.com/

I'd mod this up if I had some points. Hopefully someone else will.
true.dat :)
That scenario is something I hadn't thought of.
Are you really worried about a financial site using bad MIDI files to hax0r your computer?

And yet it wouldn't surprise me if the porn industry were one of the first to adopt IPv6...

Dude, they only "renamed" the cartridge from C1823D to 23. I believe the intent was to make things easier to remember...
For one thing, Dvorak thinks Apple will use Itanium. Not exactly binary compatible with other x86 unices...
