Seriously, once stats like this are collected, either they'll realize that this isn't a threat (and then really start pushing digital tv, stop suing companies like sonicblue etc..), or we'll be right back to where we are right now.
All I have to say to this is appeasement didn't work against Hitler. If they realize no one will stop them they will just get more and more greedy, maybe shows will become 15 min instead of the 20ish min they are now to make more room for advertisements.
The thing is though they're not actually naming a toy/game Monopoly, it's just an expression of the belief the Nintendo has a monopoly over the portable gaming market. It would be a different situation if they decided to name their lighting product "Portable Monopoly" (it would be a stupid name in the first place) instaid of Afterburner which I believe it's called.
Here's an idea to copy the protected CDs perfectly why don't you just use the optical out on either your home or portable cd player? You could connect it to your MD recorder or the S/PDIF in on your sound card.
I'm sorry but I just have to say this THX certification is a crock. All a company has to do is pay George Lucas alot of money and poof their product is THX certified, the more the money the higher the certification.
I know i'll get flamed for this but I just recently got a Sony STR-DE945 and i'm very pleased with it. It has 110watts per channel, 5.1 channels (well maybe 5.2 due to duel subwoofer outs), 4 optical outs 1 optical in, 1 coax out,
3 S/video inputs 1 output, 5 audio/video inputs 2 ouputs, Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, and a fancy shamancy 2 way learning remote. All this can be yours for around $600cdn.
Canada does allow private ownership of guns but it doesn't seem that way to americans because we don't have any phyco people that go around killing people (at least not many).
Wow it's the same when I get a customer with a thick foreign accent. //Sarcasm
And you guys voted for him again!!!
Not only did they beef up the processor and videocard they also dropped the price by $500 (cdn)
Or you could create a 1.2 TB hard drive from four of these.
It's not digital though, it's all analog all the time :)

We could send our hockey teams down to kick some ass :).

I'm from Canada and here my cable connection is fast all the time.
Buy the X-Box and get a free copy of photoshop to make the games actually look good.... (whoops)
What's the difference between Optical cables? Or is it just the appliance sending the signal that has an effect on the quality?

One major question about the chip is how are they going to manage to keep the chip cool so it doesn't melt your computer and still keep it economical
