Think about it... black people are -no- different to us in any way except their appearance. The number of people that escape that trap and become highly successful proves it. So what's different? The people that are like that are like that for no reason other than they have grown up believing that is the slot in which they are placed.
Well, that and peer pressure. getting good grades at school will get you laughed at, teased and degraded. While going out and robbing a convenience score will get you lauded and congratulated and made to feel special.
Twinkies are famous for being one of two things to outlast the nuclear holocaust.
Fascinating, is this the one in Hiroshima, or the one in Nagasaki? Also, did we export enough Twinkies to Japan in 1945 to adequately test their resilience?
yeah, stupid unions wanting working wages. They weren't asking for a raise, they were asking that their salaries didn't get cut from $18/hour to $14/hour!
and how much does management make to sit with their thumbs in their asses?
If they wanted to save the company, they could have. The press decided to blame it on the unions.
And yet, in this same article another comment says that they WERE asking for a raise, in fact a doubling of salary. So, which one is true...or more likely I guess is that BOTH sides are lying.
Now those same working-class folks are going to go run out any buy the product to reward it.
Not likely, without a job. They'll have to export all those Twinkies to another country where the citizens have jobs.
The problem is that there are a hundred diet and exercise plans, and they are all different, and a lot of them will tell you that other popular diets are wrong and even dangerous. It is about as bad as picking a religion. It makes a lot of people just give up. Or worse, they will try diet A for awhile and then diet B and then diet C. Now, if there is something that is bad for you, going from one diet to another is definitely it.
He clearly just wasn't high enough up the food chain. My previous manager, who was fired for something else entirely, used to record meetings on his toy ipad. In fact, that was one of several poor justifications for making the company purchase it.
Without citing what those "carcinogens" might be, this is just scaremongering drivel. Back it up or pack it up.
Mostly toxic chemicals used to kill fungus, molds, and prevent growth behind the paint which can lead to bubbling. Of course we know that there must be some harmful toxins in the fumes as well, since huffing paint is outlawed.
It's not supposed to be buckets of fun, it's supposed to alert a whole lot of people to look out for a car with a kidnapped child.
The question is, does it do more harm than good? What are the statistics on the number of children returned safely thanks to the issuing of an Amber Alert? Supposedly about 500. According to wiki.answers, there are over 2100 Amber Alerts issued per day. What are the statistics on the number of people who got harassed for having the same color and model of car, even thought the license plate was different? Probably greater than zero. How many car accidents were caused by people looking at their phone after an amber alert was issued? Probably in the hundreds. I'm guessing we average about one to two deaths and perhaps a dozen injuries of an unrelated party per amber alert issued.
ALL of the amber alerts that I have followed up on have been a parent "kidnapping". One of them was even perpetrated by one of my renters. It's no phone to hear one of your rental addresses on the radio. Turns out that she was foster caring for some children and was allowing the real parents to spend time with the children, which the state in it's wisdom was not allowed. One day when the kids were with their real parents, she found out that the Child Services were coming by to check up on the children, and she panicked and called 911, saying the children had been abducted by their parents. An Amber Alert was issued.
You argue that NRA wants nothing to change, and you are going to give an example where the NRA wanted to change current law by letting teachers be armed? And of course, you post no evidence or studies showing effect whether positive or negative of allowing guns in schools.
We have plenty of evidence of what happens when guns AREN'T allowed in schools. But we have no evidence of what happens when guns ARE allowed in schools. It is just assumed by the masses that it would be worse because guns are TEH EVIL.
Lead was also in paint because it was UV resistant and helped to avoid fading in sunlight. The replacement for lead in paint is repainting your house more often. Good for paint stores, bad for consumers. As for the environment? Who knows? There are probably plenty of other carcinogens in non-lead based paints that you are now applying much more frequently than would have previously been necessary.
Not to mention that lead based paint is STILL USED. The government gets to use it to paint stripes on the highway, and whatnot. Why? Because it holds up 10 times better than regular paint. But YOU can't use it on your house because "won't somebody PLEASE think of the children!"
Just because firearms manufactures ALSO support the NRA does not mean that the NRA is not a gun owners group. Depending on sources, the NRA has between 3 million and 5 million members, representing about $90 million to $150 million in revenue. I would say that the NRA would probably tend to listen pretty carefully to the demographic that provides about 80% of it's income.
What happens when the hunter removes the lead from the animal when it did not passthrough? Probably just throws it away to be put into a land fill and leach into the water table.
Well, perhaps we should stop manufacturing this horrible substance called lead which otherwise would not exist in nature and would otherwise be no threat to our wildlife or have any opportunity to leach into our water supply.
I will gladly offer them insurance for only $1 million dollars a year, policy is null and void if your network is found to be insufficiently secured, as evidenced by a successful intrusion attempt.
Seals and humans don't taste much alike at all. Seal is a rather bloody meat and tastes a lot like fish (not suprising since that's what they eat). Humans are said to taste a lot like pork from all accounts.
any human contact with wild Orcas is extremely rare, Not to mention the chances of anybody making it back to complain of a wild Orca attach is pretty low.
But you turn your computer over when it depreciates to zero ( 3 years)
No. I don't. I usually get the highest performance to dollar ratio computer (usually this is the about 95% as powerful as the top end, and about 70% of the price), and then I keep it for about 8 years before upgrading.
I bet that when you do get paid it's far more than minimum wage, which is compensation for your terrible inconvenience. Besides, your lack of sympathy for people with worse jobs than you makes you a selfish dick.
Contrary to public opinion, airline pilots don't make a crap-ton of money. They start off at just over minimum wage, and if they have a lot of experience, might make 6 figures.
35 years ago airline pilots DID get paid a crap-ton of money, roughly the equivalent of $300,000 today. But since then, fuel has gone up by a factor of 4, airline ticket prices have gone up by a factor of 5, pilot salaries have decreased by a factor of 5 and they eliminated two cockpit positions, decent food, legroom, and any other amenities they could think of. Ironically, they somehow seemed to be able to make money back when they paid the high salaries to pilots, and now they can't seem to stay afloat.
Actually not all salaried employees have to do overtime with no additional compensation.
You are correct. The Department of Labor specifies what an "Exempt" employee is, and 95% of people who are categorized as exempt by their employer do not fall under the classification of exempt as defined by the Department of labor.
Just like every other salaried employee who doesn't make any more money when it's crunch time and you have to pull 10-12 hour days to get shit done.
Must be nice. We pull 10-12 hour days just to get stuff done every day. When it is crunch time, then you pull a 10-12 hour day, then go home and login and work for another 6 hours. Thanks to unpaid overtime, my effective hourly rate is 1/4 what it was 15 years ago.
Well, these are former employees, so the contract is no longer valid. If Apple wishes to continue enforcing the contract, then they should continue paying the former employees.

Now middle management, on the other hand...
Managing their middle does seem to be quite a challenge.

Well, technically the lead would have been left in the woods one way or another anyway.
