Um no we use tons as well, and the truth is its less arrogance than it is following protocol. There are only a number of languages that the UN certifies as official inter-national languages for commerce and diplomacy. English is number 1 on the list. French is number 2.
As for caling us "yanks" grow up, you lost the war and we have bailed your asses out of the last 2 major ones.
It really is a trick too, because most famous architects refuse to work with them. Why? Because civil engineers typically have a clue and have no issues telling architects their wonderful crazily designed building is a engineering DISASTER.
Thankfully for every famous architect out there, there is a good 20-30 with a clue.
ALL corporations care about image. Your kidding yourself if you thought they didnt.
As for money, your DVD analogy is wrong, because adult DVDs had no bearing on the DVD market at all despite their claim to the contrary... Where you are RIGHT though is VCRs, as the birth of the VCR is directly correlated with adult tapes. But the difference here is both that the market took a long time to accept the technology, because technology in general took a long time to accept then (think about it, Microwaves existed in the 60's VCRs the 70's yet how long did it take for either to show up in your house?)
Likewise the idea of the systems are different. VCRs where considered "adult" devices. Kids didnt touch them, forget about using them. Kid movies and shows on tape? Those didnt show up to easily the mid 80's long after the VCR was in the homes already.
Gaming devices though aARE considered "kid" devices. Your still looked down upon by most of the US for playing games, its sad but true. Imaging a "kids" toy being used to play porn? Thats like asking for the religious right and babysitter left to lock up this entire country and make Jack Thompson our savior.
yes but the Parent was talking about how if Eternal Darkness where released today, it wouldnt be on the Wii since its a MA game, which is complete bullshit as the Wii already HAS a number of MA games.
Money, and image are the reasons why ALL of the systems banned them. Its the exact same reason why pretty much all movie theaters ban NC-17 flicks, or even unrated ones in the case of indies. The little credibility they gain by allowing a AO game is vastly dwarfed by the potential backlash in this country to them doing it... If you want that to change, you need to remove the power that conservatives wield, because until then it wont change.
To put it in perspective though, for as shy to sex and the US is, the EU and Japan is the opposite, much of the violence that passes as M or even T games would ban them elsewhere.
BUT the PC commodity hardware also breaks down faster, which is not something you want in a production environment. Our printer actually went over to PC right at the OS X switch, rather than staying with OS 9 and the Mac. In 2 years he was back due to how fast they where going through backup machine after backup machine.
not much since anyone who really uses Adobe for what its meant for uses a Mac. The slim few design houses that use PC would either have to
1) move to the Mac like everyone else.
2) use something else and deal with the fact that they are not sticking to a standard, which they where not anyway since they used a PC in a field that is like 80% Apple.
Not to mention the fact that while Photoshop and Illustrator is used by basically everyone, InDesign is not and still has major competition from Quark, so PC uses will still have that for desktop publishing. Then there is Corel still which is not popular in the least, but something and a pretty decent suit in it of it's self.
In other words there are plenty of avenues where PC users shut out of a Apple owned Adobe could go.... but its a moot point anyway since Apple would never buy Adobe in a million years, as there is no reason to other than it might get their developers off their fucking asses with dragging along every damn update to the suit. It took over a year and a half to just get Adobe Intel compatible... and dont get me started on the years it took for them to make a OS X version.
there is a distinct difference between Apples administrator authorization, and Vista's prompt. Vista has a habit of prompting for even innocent non-vital changes that could in no way damage the system, while Apple's prompts only when something that is trying to access the System library directory.
Thats all great for file storage, but for one box that does everything a NAS appliance is useless. If all you needed was network storage you wouldnt be buying a Xserve so your argument is idiotic.
if you have even 60 macs (which most large companies who use macs have more in the realm of 200-300) spending 500 on a unlimited seat licensed server OS that works with Mac, Linux, AND Windows network protocols is a heck of a time saving (and ultimately money) over trying to get it to work with Linux... or/snick 2003.
Currently based on past practice, Apple is doing number 2 (the most scolding they do about hacking it to run of 3rd party hardware is a "Please dont do this" line in their codebase, and thats it.
Whats being insinuated by people is they will do number 3, based on Apples practice with AT&T. The difference is though, Apple isnt making 18 dollars a month per person off of OS X... Apple IS making that much from AT&T.
the idea is to prevent people from mass-buying the phones, unlocking them, then selling them unlocked.
They are less concerned about the few people doing it, and more about the number of companies who have stated they would do it for a profit on the phone.
yes but increasing markeshare doesnt matter if your losing billions of dollars and cant pull a profit. Go ask Dell about that, they priced themselves nearly out of the market at this point.
Um Apple created the Apple Clones too... They simply stopped licensing the ROM because it was killing the company (funny enough EXACTLY what happened to IBMs PC business)
And if by killing you mean buying up all the companies that where making excellent clones and using their talent to build the iMac, G3 and Airport... then good for Apple.
not likely. Greenpeace spends more on their own people than actually goes to environmental concerns. You should really check out the criticism of Greenpeace... they are hardly as green as they claim.
eh not really. If the program it's self is illegal (which the FISA would certainly fall under since it violates the constitution) then you can still call these wiretaps illegal.
Visor was what Palm should have been (and rightly so since the company was owned by many of the people who hated the committee design of the Pilot. I still think the Visor Edge is the greatest palm based PDA ever made. Its still thinner than my Tungsten E2.
One of Apples biggest wins with controlling the hardware AND the software is this very fact... they have phased out legacy equipment and software every so many years.
likely because they factor in "Edugaming" which is a multi-million dollar industry but would likely never be considered REAL gaming by most of us. I suspect if they split the study up to account for gaming, and edugaming as two different things, that there would be a massive shift toward more system gamers than PC gamers.
As oposed to what? Invading countries and making them colonies till their people overthrow them? Kinda like Palestine, India, US....?
As for caling us "yanks" grow up, you lost the war and we have bailed your asses out of the last 2 major ones.
this is a underground campaign for World War Z the Movie?

Um hi Manhunt 2? The only reason it was not released on the Wii was it got a AO rating, the M version WAS released on the Wii.
yes but he is using one of the RED space suits... a sure sign he is toast.

They didnt brick the phone, but it didnt work after the update either, you had to apply a new unlock to get it to work again.
