And Im being very truthful about it. One of my biggest problems with the Windows line of OSs has been how bloated it is. True Palms might not be as capable BUT honestly, its a PDA... do you REALLY need it to be a full blown computer when most of the time your going to be using it to take contacts and stuff. Whats worse is how even Windows Mobile emulates a full size Windows OS when on a 2x4 screen its uncalled for, even our barcode scanners piss me off because of that. And the sheer library of programs out there for Palm OS means you can tailor it for anything.

And its not unheard of, even our work firewall which doesnt let through anything remotely related to .exe, .zip or outside searches, still has managed to let through viruses disguised as things that are ok. Some can be traced to outside sources (people who have access abusing it, CDs and other media from home) but at least 1-2 times a month we get something that sneaks right through a configured firewall. Its always contained and disinfected before it does any amount of damage, but we can show through logs that it was infected from outside the network, despite it not supposed to be.

Thats a marked improvement, maybe not as much as the 360, but still much better than the GC. What makes this better though is because its the same chipset, they can get the most out of it soon than the 360 will, since your relearning how to code for it (since it went from a x86 platform to a PowerPC one) though not nearly as hard as it will be for the PS3 with its big old look at me Cell chip that the dev houses didnt even have coding kits for till July.

I don't buy that myth about PS2s failing regularly ON THEIR OWN,
You dont have to buy it, Sony themselves have admitted they have issues, but to get them to do anything about it is a beast in it's self. For one thing very rarely do they actually cover things after a year, although with the 1st gen they had (and if I had known I would have sent them mine) But its well documented that they suffer two major issues, laser aim errors, and hard drive connector failures on all generations of the PS2. The new ones (the PSTwo) so far work great... but they have ANOTHER major issue that cant be fixed, and thats with some PS1 titles, they fail (including my Final Fantasy Anthology collection, which worked on a original PS2.)

You dont have to take my word for it, there are large numbers of people with the same issues. And they all bought new PS2's or Twos... not because it was their fault, but because if they didnt they now had large collections of games and nothing to play it on.

Stop being a paid Sony shrill or a fanboi and think for a second before you type. If your PS2 failed and you now had 20 something games that where worthless... would you even question buying a new one even if you knew they had a bad failure rate?

lots of gamers that have gamecube say new Wii games are actually not better graphically than latest Gamecube games.
Same could be said about early 360 games which also where not much better than original games. The only reason PS3 games look so good is because the PS2 is the oldest and slowest of the bunch. That being said, its also going to be a long time before anything looks better than the less powerful 360, as developers loath working on the Cell.

As it was many feel that people didnt get enough out of the GC yet, so its not surprising that its taking longer for third partys who shunned the GC to pick up the pace and develop nice looking Wii games. Pretty soon though as more third partys realize that they are going to have to get on the Wii bandwagon if they ever expect to sell a decent amount of games, those graphics are going to improve.

So in the end your 9 weeks, ends up coming close to 6-5 which is about what most jobs get as paid vacation in the business world. Some of us like the support staff, custodians, and Administrators dont get any summer vacation, as well as teachers required to teach during the summer (usually your first to third years since they have no way to fight back out of fear of not getting tenured which often happens anyway, cheaper to hire new teachers who start back at 35k than to tenure one) This is also not counting teachers who get moved, which is common in larger districts.

    1) Most major (ie GOOD) games come out with a version for OSX or have one coming out of the gate. Thats not even counting the tons of shareware and freeware titles out there that are good. Then again who cares when all evidence is pointing to PC gaming barely breaking 100,000 copies sold while the systems break millions.

    2) I have never had a issue with using P2P on a OS X machine... EVER. Maybe back in the glory days of Napster but thats like 6-7 years ago and hardly points to today.

    3) Trust me, there isNOT a limit of pirated software on the Apple side. Infact one of the nice benifits is most often you can easily find what you need without having to worry if that file you downloaded is actually a trojan when you run it through your check. That being said, you still also have the huge plethora of freeware software provided by its UNIX underpinnings.

The only statement you got correct here is MAYBE number 1, that its expensive to get a good machine, so kids have no problem dropping 200-400 on a piece of shit that breaks in 2 years (hence why Gateway would ever be considered a good machine). But I dont even think this is true either, I think its more a case of computer illiterate kids asking their friends who use computers whats the best system out there, and them getting told FUD because generally most kids who think they know computers dont know the first thing about them except how to run STEAM or how to hook up their iPod. I say this from experience having worked with them and finding out that the supposed "internet kids" are just as stupid when it comes to the machines they use as the people from generations before, they simply know how to get online.
