This is so true that I hate it. Women want equality, so we try to give to to them, and blam, they object. Men and Women are not equal, never will be, and never can be.
I've never played the SIMS and don't plan on it for a while. I like the world of Metroid Prime and SSX3 and, when it comes out, will like DOOM3, much much better. Is it just me or do the people who like the SIMS appear to have many similarities to people who use AOL? Maybe I am missing something, afterall it was posted on/. Is there a cool version of the SIMS like "The SIMS GTA style" where you can go buy a bazooka from some guy and blast things with it?
No government forced any "debt" on me, I chose to obtain a mortgage on my free will, and was only able to do so due to the large tax relief. (Closing costs suck) It works like this. One has 2 options (for simplicity): 1: rent an apartment your whole life and never own it and be subjected to the landlord's rules of living, or 2: Buy a house which costs a little more but you end up owning it and have something to sell later on, and you can choose how you live because you are the landlord! I have no idea why the above comment got +1 moderated since it has no basis of an argument and contains miss-spellings.
I am sorry that you don't have a job, my regards. And no, it's not cutting into their prosperity, because me having a mortgage will allow them to live a better (than an apartment rental) life by me being able to pass something along to them.
I think that you are miss-understanding what Mike Anderer said. Mike said: I suspect Microsoft may have 50 or more of these lawsuits in the queue. All of them are not asking for hundreds of millions...
So why would MS sue themselves. It doesn't make any sense. He is saying that MS may have 50 lawsuits in queue against other OS companies.
Follow the crowd, my friend. At least Bush makes it clear where he stands, and sticks to it. I wouldn't have been able to buy a house if it weren't for him. If Gore was elected, I'd be paying mega$$$ in taxes and couldn't afford a down payment. I beleive that the economy will be strengthened by Bush's work, you just don't see it right away(ever excersized? You get weaker when you work out before you get stronger). Then when someone else comes in, and the economy gets good from Bush's doings, the next guy gets the credit. I think this last lul is due to Clinton's destructive habbits. Some people see the truth, and those ones will be set free.
Does this make me less of a person in the eyes of/.?
Not at all, I hate carrying around tons of stuff. I think all those gadgets are cool, but they're expensive too. What would you rather have, a new laptop or a down payment on a house? I chose the house.
I had an IBM laptop once when I worked for IBM, it was cool to have, especially as a portable game server or extra client for the occasional LAN party, but it was paid for by the company and as much as I'd like a new T40, I'd rather spend the $4000(cause I'd deck it out) on a new fireplace insert(my wife calls me a pyro) and pay off student loans.
Wow, I've never heard that before. I thought it was cool that everyone has a rifle. I supposed a lot of crazy rednecks in the US have rifles too, but their not required to have one.
I don't think that people aren't watching TV and play games instead because TV sucks, I think that people aren't watching TV because games rock.
I think that writers, artists, producers, and more are switching from the movie/TV industry to the gaming industry because there's more money in gaming now.
I agree that pure graphics don't a revolution make, but they pave the way for innovation and allow new possibilities. Massive Multiplayers wouldn't as very fun if we were limited to old Pac-man style games.
There has been tons of innovation. RTS/FPS? The Sims?
I agree that online gaming is the future, there's nothing like playing against real intelligence rather than AI. AI is fun, but real intelligence is great. My gaming world was rocked when I started playing Quake2 online (Quake2 was my 1rst into to online gaming). Since then, gaming has never been the same for me.
Yes, I agree. It just seems like people think America is evil because we have it off pretty good. They want everything to be equal. Pretty soon people will be marrying their dogs because it's their right and brain surgens will be working on people for the same pay as a vet gets for giving puppies shots. That's fine they want to be like that, but I don't agree with it and accept things the way they are.
Switzerland sure is beautiful, I spent 2 weeks in Interlaken a few years back. It was like the Washington Cascades on steroids with a touch of fantasy.
But, I don't think I'd get along well with 100% of the people requiring military service, and paying 50% in income tax. No, I'll stay here and visit Switzerland every once in a while. I was making just over minimum wage at the time too, so you don't have to be rich to do it.
Middle America thinks free trade is fair when America's gaining from it
America imports way more than it exports. That means we pay $$$ for what we import. The world's economy is very dependant on ours (some countries base the value of their currency on ours). We buy Ram, cars, and all kinds of things. This stimulates their economies and creates jobs in their countries. These people should be thanful. A lot of it we could decide not to and use internal resources. They could do the same if rolls were reveresed. I am not saying that Americans are superior, we most certainly are not (some would dissagree, but not me), I am just saying God chose to bless America, and other countries seem to think *all* Americans are selfish because of this, which is not true (some close friends of mine recently took a trip to Gana Africa taking a huge generator with them to power their town, and many other goods, for free, install it for free, and maintain it for free, asking for nothing in return, how is that selfish? They have nothing to give in return except friendship, this is not a political move you read about on CNN, it's honest love). I agree that many Americans are greedy, but don't blame the whole nation for what you read on the news!
We also donate billions of dollars to countries in poverty and see nothin in return. Sure sometimes it is a "loan", but we all know that America never sees it again.
And with the Turbocoding (soon to be 8PSK) used on 105/121, that's twice the bang for the buck. Not to mention the option of 7/8 FEC over straight 5/6 QPSK FEC (all that DirecTV supports), they have much more to play with. They can squeeze a bit out of the failing transponders by setting the FEC to 1/2.
All I heard was "Kargh Shmarsh bent defibulator marnok purfaben".

hell, there wasn't even a freaking right mouse button!
Dang, I've been considering OS X for a while, but now my dreams are over...
Why didn't I think of that!?!? If I go rid of their (linksys) firewall and enable IIS, they'll most certainly ask me for advice within a week and I could then tell them to get a new ($3000)computer. Then I'd have access to another machine for LAN parties!
