I tried very hard to get one of those in New Zealand, only for the dealer to call me up to tell me they're not 'TelePermitted' and he's not getting them in any more, and they don't have anything else like it (both FXO and FXS with SIP).
How do you find DTMF detection etc? I heard those were a complaint with that model. I'm a little inclined to splash out for an ISDN BRI connection + card instead. Less wait while dialing, callerid comes through immediately instead of after a ring, no echo problems, better quality - all seem worth the $$$ if you're going to bother trying to run a PBX. I've yet to use * with FXO/FXS ports in the box, but I've set up one system with two BRI cards giving four connections to the PSTN, and a T1 line to a 24 port FXS channel bank, as well as a SIP GSM gateway. The only place we got echo problems was in the channel bank, SIP phones worked much better out of the box.
Not only that, one day, on another system he hasn't yet aliased rm to 'rm -i', he'll fire the command, and wonder why he hasn't been asked, while it silently does its work.
I never alias rm to 'rm -i'. In all of my UNIX history, I've once blown away my/usr tree in my first week of learning (mean to delete my temporary copy in/root/usr), and once deleted a file I would later need (where I would have said "yes" to rm -i anyway).
I believe an rm -i default is a bad BAD BAD thing.
I admit I came across as having a stab at the "messengers", but I do in fact agree with you, the articles are well written and usually very accurate and helpful when researching a problem.
Maybe if the compressor thinks it's random data, it just records that fact, and when it's time to decompress, it just cats random data back at you again.
Your formula is for squares.
Discs are round, so they can go around, so the area of a 5.25 sq in disc is more like 21". But you've also got to subtract the area of the disc you can't use, like where the spindle is, etc, and you can't record right on the edge of the disc either.
Mod parent funny.
You actually can change the username from "root", just as you can change "Administrator" in Windows (thank God, it's a PITA to type all the time).
Many truly stupid people think they're making themselves more secure by doing so, it was policy in one place I worked to change "Administrator" to some obscure word. Of course, that word was always left in the username box, and many users asked me who it was with that username, so it's not like it got kept very secret.
It also firmly establishes that this guy is nothing more than a backstabbing little shit. He illegally hacks into systems and then proceeds to turn anyone and everyone he can over to the authorities. Makes me wonder what kind of "friends" he has.
How, exactly, did it suddenly occur to you that you forgot to sign it when you saw the cheque was cashed? Surely, when you say you forgot to sign it, you in fact wilfully left your signature off, and were surprised when you found the cheque got honoured.
Yes, because that mentality has fuelled all of the innovation the world has ever seen.

African or European?
Since the planet isn't due to be renamed for another 400 or so years, can we just start burying Uranus joke crackers as an interim measure?

Symptom: When you use X, Y doesn't work properly.
Cause: Due to a design deficiency in X, Y sucks when used in conjunction with X.
Solutions:
- Don't use X
- Don't use Y
- Render yourself unable to notice the problem
Keywords: omg bzzt bzzzzzAll this and more, from "The voice of all reason"
Don't encourage them, please.

Call me crazy, but to me IMDB is somewhat less of an authority on quotations that someone who hasn't even seen the film before, IMHO.
Whoosh!

It's the same here in New Zealand, only our chicks are much hotter.
Are you getting a kick out of some of these replies?
Or even "Flamebait" since that's what the blunt, honest truth seems to get these days...
Not really, Alanis.

My bad.

Rich ones.

Ah, yeah, that wasn't really his point, though, was it?
