Let's see. I did return something I bought on Amazon a while back. I opened a ticket to return the item online. I received instructions that I could either download and print a pre-paid UPS shipping label or drop it off at one of their "Amazon Locker" locations. I opted for the latter. I put the item in the box, put it in the locker, and got a refund. Where is the problem?

  5. Amazon is a huge company, but I don't think you can make a reasonable argument that they are a monopoly. You can name most any product or service they provide, and there is competition. Amazon Web Services - Microsoft Azure Web Services Amazon Marketplace - eBay, Craigslist Amazon Prime Video - Netflix Amazon Prime Music - Pandora Selling goods and services - Target, Walmart, and the local guys. Disclosure: I own shares of AMZN.

I just straight up told one of these guys that it frankly offends me.

The problem with stock "puts" is that they expire. You would have to buy something far in the money in order to avoid losing your shirt on time premium unless you could time exactly when the market should tank (and you can't predict it). Try major REITs and their indices. VNQ lost over 50% of its value in 2008. But yeah, don't buy those contracts without substantial research or else you could learn a new definition of "screwed".

Amen to this. I remember years ago when AMD was considered a joke and they suddenly burst onto the scene with their "Athlon" line of processors.

Prior to this, Intel would charge north of $1000 for their top-of-the-line CPUs and AMD forced them to sell for more competitive prices.

For the love of all that is good, would you please read up on anxiety meds before you make this blanket assertion that "there is medication to remove most symptoms".

Most of these meds belong to a class of drugs called benzodiezepines which are notorious for being horribly addictive and to have awful side effects like daytime sleepiness and impaired thinking. As a matter of fact, they are also prescribed as sleep aids.

Another popular anxiety med, Paxil, is an SSRI and is notorious for causing patients to gain weight excessively.

I agree that we should have a discrimination free culture in the workplace, but anxiety meds are *not* an appropriate tool to achieve this!

I've been working in Denver for the past four years. I recently did a job search and ended up getting far underpaid and underemployed because despite Denver's reputation as a "tech city", the market is awash in more candidates than there are jobs.

This week, I advertised myself to be available in other markets in the hope of getting a better job and my phone and e-mail immediately blew up. It looks as if even in Salt Lake, there are more hiring managers seeking candidates than there are here in Denver.
