Let's see. I did return something I bought on Amazon a while back. I opened a ticket to return the item online. I received instructions that I could either download and print a pre-paid UPS shipping label or drop it off at one of their "Amazon Locker" locations. I opted for the latter. I put the item in the box, put it in the locker, and got a refund. Where is the problem?
Amazon is a huge company, but I don't think you can make a reasonable argument that they are a monopoly. You can name most any product or service they provide, and there is competition.
Amazon Web Services - Microsoft Azure Web Services
Amazon Marketplace - eBay, Craigslist
Amazon Prime Video - Netflix
Amazon Prime Music - Pandora
Selling goods and services - Target, Walmart, and the local guys.
Disclosure: I own shares of AMZN.
Well, it looks like you haven't been using your punchcards for programming. You've been using your punchcards to roll dubbies! Well, you'll have lots of time to roll dubbies when you're living in a VAAAA-YUNNN, down by the RIIIII-VUR.
Well, actually, the way they try to get me to drop my pants on price as a candidate is that lately, I've been looking for jobs in other cities, and they want to tell me, "Oh, according to some source, $90K in my town is equivalent to $105K in your town.", as if I never took cost of living into account. I just straight up told one of these guys that it frankly offends me.
It's like when you see an uproariously funny trailer for a comedy and go see the film, only to discover that all the funny material, you've already seen in the trailer.
The problem with stock "puts" is that they expire. You would have to buy something far in the money in order to avoid losing your shirt on time premium unless you could time exactly when the market should tank (and you can't predict it). Try major REITs and their indices. VNQ lost over 50% of its value in 2008. But yeah, don't buy those contracts without substantial research or else you could learn a new definition of "screwed".
cayenne8 stated that President Obama did not have the authority under the US Constitution to enact DACA unilaterally. He says that in order to enact DACA, an act of Congress is required.
I've wondered what it would be like if you could go back in time and explain to George Washington (first US President), James Madison (author of the US Constitution), and Thomas Jefferson (author of the declaration of independence) that the government that they fought so hard to establish would one day demand that it's subjects^W citizens receive permission from that same government to have food and medicine.
I've been surprised at how awfully noise stock coolers are these days. If they're going to give you such a crummy cooler, they ought to simply save you a few $$$ and not include one since you're going to throw it away and buy a better one.
For the love of all that is good, would you please read up on anxiety meds before you make this blanket assertion that "there is medication to remove most symptoms".
Most of these meds belong to a class of drugs called benzodiezepines which are notorious for being horribly addictive and to have awful side effects like daytime sleepiness and impaired thinking. As a matter of fact, they are also prescribed as sleep aids.
Another popular anxiety med, Paxil, is an SSRI and is notorious for causing patients to gain weight excessively.
I agree that we should have a discrimination free culture in the workplace, but anxiety meds are *not* an appropriate tool to achieve this!
You do realise that the idea of treating other people without regard to the color of their skin was outside of the mainstream during King's life, don't you? Many of King's contemporaries would have criticized him harshly for the same stated reasons you mention above ^^^
I've been working in Denver for the past four years. I recently did a job search and ended up getting far underpaid and underemployed because despite Denver's reputation as a "tech city", the market is awash in more candidates than there are jobs.
This week, I advertised myself to be available in other markets in the hope of getting a better job and my phone and e-mail immediately blew up. It looks as if even in Salt Lake, there are more hiring managers seeking candidates than there are here in Denver.
Maybe the two of you should try talking about the nasty around it and see what happens. You could have fun!
Maybe you could suggest a repeatable experiment for us on the intertubes?

A rich person is defined to be someone who has more money than I do!

Yeah, maybe that car can take me to Starbucks to get a cup of coffee-flavored coffee.
Actually, my wife says that the contemporary coffee-flavored coffee is the bread-flavored bagel.

Which part? Perhaps we could start with the part where it says that Congress makes laws. Maybe that part.
And oh yes, the weapons you use to perform the job won't be illegal, they will be "undocumented".
You mean that you want to perform an unauthorized termination of their cardiopulmonary functioning?

You mean that capitalist organization that runs the Washington Post that campaigned so hard to elect Hillary Clinton as POTUS?

Prior to this, Intel would charge north of $1000 for their top-of-the-line CPUs and AMD forced them to sell for more competitive prices.
same reason people anthropomorphise the economy - invisible hand and all that stuff

I've heard it said that we should call them "Robert Half Your Salary" because their fee is so high.
