  1. Use a GUI tool on Delta Compression for Linux Security Patches? · · Score: 1

    Just use a simple gui tool like Ark or probably file roller to do it. Or write a simple shell script and call it "extract"

    #!/bin/bash
    TYPE=`file $1`
    if echo $TYPE | grep bzip &> /dev/null && echo $TYPE | grep tar &> /dev/null; then
    tar xvjf "$1"
    else if....

    Simple stuff :)

    When I met John Terpstra at the Southern California Linux Expo, I bought the book and had him sign it. He was wearing a Caldera jacket that I asked about. He smiled at me and said "I'm actually trying to sell it, would you like to buy it?" We shared a good laugh.

    John Terpstra working for SCO is the most rediculous thing I've ever heard of. Did you foget that Samba shot back at SCO for being such pricks and hypocrites?

    I was talking to my boss that uses Intel motherboards and Intel processors only and he said that he would never buy another AMD chip again since he received a shipment of bad chips. I think it was a very popular bug that a lot of the chips sufferred from at the time of K-II's.

    I told him that AMD is currently leading the way in speed, price, and even technology, but he insisted that he'll wait for Intel to make a chip that compares.
