I agree that Trump is certainly destroying our relationship with allies, but as far as China goes, they have been in an economic war with the west for the last 30 years.
They were required to drop their massive number of tariffs, as well as quit manipulating their money, and instead, they continue to raise tariffs and heavily manipulate their money, as well as subsidize and dump.
The cold war with China was already going on.
And as to Russia, it was Russia that invaded Georgia and Ukraine. Ask the Eastern European how they feel about it as well as Germany holding NATO back from helping the east more.
Why is America grabbing her? So what if they trade with Iran? We have no legal say in that. This is no different than Assange. We have no legal rights on this.
The debt grew, but, he was handed a 1T deficit, and brought it down. Had the deficit level remained where W/GOP left it, things would have been far far worse.
Actually, I'm GDI, and was registered Libertarian for over 25 years. O did not increase the deficit by much except with his tax cuts. ACA was fully paid for, unlike gop's Medicare part D. And his temp spending up front was to keep us out of depression.
Trump's spending and tax cuts are pure disaster.
If it stops the north atlantic conveyor, it could cause a mini-ice age instead, that would refreeze the arctic. Of course, northern Europe, Russia, nor anybody close to the equator might not be happy.
Ok. I'm saying that new cars ( no commercial or light trucks ) sales in America, by end of 2023, will drop to less than 1/2 of where they are today, and of that, more than 1/2 will be EVs.
I exclude light trucks because there will likely only be 2 ev truck manufacturers, Rivian and Tesla.
Is that what you are agreeing to?
The 18 months is due to law suit done at us west back in the 80s. Contractor had worked there for 10 years, then was let go in a round of layoffs. Since she had been there so long and was treated like employee, lawyer argued she was owed sal/benefits of employee . She won.
So companies boot contractors at 18 months and then can rehire at 24. In addition, they purposely will not treat you 100% like employee.
By 2022-3, if not sooner, EVs will be the large majority of car sales. Many car makers will see their sales plummet because they are not moving fast enough to EVs.
In addition, SX loves working with NASA. Lots of experience, lots of good bantering of ideas. SX will not accept all, but NASA will at least point out issues on R&D that SX is working on. And then add to that, SX and NASA are developing nuke engines. Not sure how closely they are working, but both are sharing tech.
Good posting. Farmers/Ranchers are under appreciated.
I do wish that you soybean farmers would plant more for edamame, as well as Ginger root and other items from China.
Depending on what you are using the net for, you can get more bandwidth from sat Internet. Of course, ping time will sux big time. BUT, this would work until starlink/1-web are available.
And I think that AC is talking about the massive subsidies farmers get. I realize that most of it goes to the large ones, but I am assuming that you are probably running several sections. Otherwise, it really will be hard to make money as a farmer (maybe organic).
Starlink will be available in about 2-3 years. When it comes, you will be able to get 1G+ for about $50 (though I suspect that antenna and install will cost 500). Fiber by the monopolies is worthless. Fiber from a utility, or where you have multiple competing companies, is where you will get ahead.
I doubt that Starlink will bundle channels. Far more likely, they will stay with delivering IP, and then allow others to deliver TV, radio, web, etc. Of course, SX may have a subsidiary that delivers that, but, starlink will not.
No.
THings are about to change. We have multiple satellite systems coming that will be able to download at 1G rate to a building.
In addition, more and more communities are putting together fiber-as-utility for local residences/businesses. Both of these make great sense.
In particular, fiber will allow 10-100 GB connections to homes and residences. One nice thing about that, is that it allows a building to put in their own servers, as opposed to using AWS/Google/etc cloud.
Plenty of sat tv is coming. However, it will be broadcast over the net, including over starlink and 1-web.
What will NOT be done, is a sat system that is devoted to TV, esp. at these prices with the lousy service.

gear from Western nations. That includes the chips/electronics.
China is a very high risk, as is anything by Russia, or their allies.
Only an idiot downloads without checking more about the source. Sadly, many do it.

Too late. Trump is already here and is now running the deficit up to 666 Billion/year.
Actually, it has been rising slowly for something like 30 years. This would be an acceleration in how much is added yearly.

No, pichai, along with others, are outsourcing to India/China. This is why Hillary was going to increase H1Bs from 50k / year to 500k .
Seriously, pichai has another fuck up by outsourcing heavily to India/china, and not paying decent $, and is being called on it.

No. Things will improve shortly. Starlink/1-web will bring everybody up to 1G for a price similar to Europe's.

nope.
IPTV is multicasted, which is fairly efficient. Even today, Europe makes heavy use of this.
sat tv, like cable tv, IS going away. Customers are dropping off each.

Nope. Bing is scrubbed by Chinese firewall. However, Google/Bing/etc are not needed. Not all stories are in writing and ppl talk.
