    This time - and it's probably a fluke - Joe_Dragon is right. Can is a transitive verb. As in "We've got a bumper pea harvest, I think I'll can some". And it's short for shitcan, which means to dismiss or dispose of something or someone.

    I've never seen one where that would be possible. The earth hole is too far from the edge so the other two prongs would hit the plate and stop it going even half way in.

    Yes, the US will let you just pay UK income tax if you're making a low wage- and the first umpteen thousand £ you don't have to pay double taxes on.

    Not my interpretation, but there you go.

    You can get an exemption on the first 100k. Hardly low wage.

    Admission of new countries requires unanimity. Many other things don't..

    Also, assuming Spain is desperate for something which can be vetoed that could only be exercised by an existing member. Why would they? What the fuck do you think France or Italy could gain by doing so?

    If I moved back to Europe I'd pay my income taxes there and then my US income taxes on top of that.

    While I'm sure it's more complicated than that (especially if you have income from property and stuff), it looks like you pay UK tax if that's higher. If UK tax was lower the US would tax you the difference.

    I suspect it's the same for most other countries.
