    I think removing lead from petrol (and maybe other thinks, like pipes & paint) was put forward as a possible alternative explanation, maybe even in the book.

    Dagon. Rewatched it recently. Wasn't as good as I remembered, to be honest.

  14. IBM KB-8923. Fairly chunky & heavy, decent key travel. Made in 1996. So long since I touched an M I can't say how far off "the master" it is, but it's way better than most modern ones.

    It's also completely filthy.

    And a Microsoft Natural Pro that's big enough to turn over and use as a bed. Tend to use it with the RPi since it has a USB connector alongside the normal one, even though it looks silly.

    And in the industrial revolution the world was a lot less crowded than it is now. There was always the option to go and be a farmer somewhere else. OK, there were already people there who weren't too happy about that, but that created another kind of employment opportunity. At one hundred yards, volley fire ...

    It's win-win. Well, not so much for those on the receiving end of the volley.

    In the cloud the software stays where it is, so there's no distribution. In a way, the users come to you. That's a literal interpretation, not necessarily a correct one.

    I saw him debating that creepy bastard who owns that Jesus Dinosaur museum. Bill was a lot politer and more restrained than I would have been.

    I don't see why chemical engineering is any more sciency than mechanical engineering. If you think it has a lot of chemistry in it, you're wrong.

    Which is by the by. In terms of Nye's intended audience, they're all sciency enough.
