What if you have one of these and it looks like algae, and you keep it in a fish tank?
"Hey, What happened to my computer! It's gone!" "I didn't do anything, I just cleaned the fish tank!"
And last of all, can it play Ogg?

  7. What about the space elevator thing? on NASA Announces Enviromentally Friendly Jet Fuel · · Score: 0, Offtopic

I saw somewhere some idea for a device called a space elevator. Basically it consists of a very long and thick conveyor belt that is made of extremely resistent materials. It would be placed closest to the equator as possible, and one end would be launched into the air, while the other is firmly resting on the earth. The force of the earth spinning around keeps it up. Then you use the conveyor part to launch satellites into geosynchronous orbit for a fraction of the cost of rockets. Spacecraft could be launched towards the moon with very little fuel, and refuel on the moon, if there is a power plant there, and they could go really far with very little fuel onboard. More room for scientific equipment!

  9. Time to get a PPC computer on Running Mac OS X Binaries With NetBSD · · Score: 1, Redundant

I was thinking of getting a PowerPC computer and install GNU Darwin on it, but unfortunately GNU Darwin is dropping PowerPC and Cocoa support, so it is kind of useless. Considering that NetBSD runs just about every computer out there, the ability to run OSX binaries is greatly appreciated. I really hopes this becomes popular and that is really DOES run OSX binaries well, cuz then I'll be VERY happy. Mmm. OSX compatiblilty...

Can you imagine a beowulf cluster of that? Seriously though, I want to know if it is possible to cluster in *BSD (which I suppose it is). If anyone knows a site that shows benchmarks of identical Linux and *BSD clusters. If the *BSD cluster is faster, then I will search with all my might for >1GhZ used boxen and make a cluster myself!

GOOD LORD a company is exploring how to compete with other products??
M$ doesn't compete with other products, it eliminates them. When it can't eliminate the competition (in the case of linux), it FUDs or sues them to death. I strictly believe to compete with a product is to make a better product. That's just my $0.02

Lots of people have heard that the PlayStation3 will have "Cell computing", which is when they have lots of tiny cpu's clustered together each doing an extremely small part of the computing process. This will make programs using threads REALLY fast. I hope they have a cell computing device (like a cell computing PDA) made out of some of these things!

Cute but worthless? Not true. A sphere has the most volume for area thing, so you use less of a case for more computer space. Of course, in the case of a PC, (no pun intended) all parts are more or less rectangular, so a rectangular case would be better.
