300,000 registered developers (and a number of unregistered developers for their own use) for a platform that has under 5 % of market share is a pretty good number. I can't at least imagine windows having a similar relationship of developers/users.
don't try to hit me with some problem solving or start line techniques that are in a book!
a technique that might work bettter on hitting female (geek)s: be yourself - and funny and smart.
you don't have necessarily even get to go anywhere to a place new or too not-online for you. my honey found me actually on a computer board. and his being funny and smart was enough for me.:)
What I find very interesting is that dr. Atkins himself died not long ago... and obese. IF he knew how to help people stay in healthy weight and made so many millions out of it, then why was HE himself fat?
Go to System Preferences, and Choose Universal Access. You can turn on zoom that can zoom that is practically illimited. You can manually zoom what you need to see better in any application after that.
alt command + zooms in alt command - zooms out alt command * switches zoom on / off.
You can also choose the background and text colors to be more visible for you.
There is also an external application called BackLight. It inverts the colors you have on the screen. Many even normal sighted people sometimes find it useful.
It started in France - the French government was the first one to require the dB limit to iPods. So for a small period of time iPod was considered illegal in France - before they made the software update _for_European_market_only_ that was basically 5 MB only to lower the volume to apply to the French rules. There may be out there other European states with the same volume legislation, but _that_ dB limit is only Europe.
The mini transmittors of which iTrip is an example, has NEVER been allowed or legal in UK or in the maority of European Union.
In practise you probably can bring an iTrip woth you there, or sell it to someone living in Europe, and he/she/you are not likely to get to trouble with it. But I can't recall the iTrip-type electronics EVER have been allowed there. So, why did it make to the news only now?
i assume your comment was to the previous one, the one i commented (but your reply appeared on my post's reple)? i said it runs on g3s, and i have a mid 2002 ibook with the same configuration. also, uf you had a look on http://macnews.net.tc (r macintosh,fryke.com?) that i linked, you noticed fryke has made all his experiments on a late 2002 ibook.:)
Why is Windows a requirement? And Explorer? Learn to use the cookies.
I am a Mac user and prefer Safari, Camino, Links, iCab. Thus no way I could vote. Why are the Mac / Linux / other OS than windows and Other Browser than Explorer users seen as B-citizens?
All wireless devices need *correct use*. Use correctly your admin options.
And don't intend the article as the other wireless systems being "more secure". I am surfing constantly on neighbors Linksys system - their covad is so much faster than our dsl. I've never sniffed to get it. It shows up on my airport menus.. to those pc users never occurred that their connection could have constant parassites - and i know 100 % i'm not the only one in this block of flats to do that - to slower their own surfing speed. So, internet radio at 160 k/sec, downloading mails and surfing fast.
I am too comfortably lazy to tell them that they *could* inform themselves about what is a password.
Okay, you could maybe do the same thing with emacs but.. it looks so aqua, mac-like, pretty. For companies who are not afraid of the people enjoying their work?;-) probably it'll take some time before getting used to coding with a program that looks like iChat, but it looks enjoyable.
Offer the alternative after that article, please

This article was split to 25 pages, that is 100-150 banner views later you have read the article and then? I don't like "philosophical" comments about the programs. If you know how you wanted Finder to be, just _CODE ONE YOURSELF_ and offer at least an alfa version of it! Code that spatial finder, and give it to download.
I could rant about some features of terminal and console - or I could simply get other programs that satisfy me more, or hack the core of the programs and make them behave as I want.
And if you can't do what you bothered to describe with 25 pages (= about 2 split to give 100-150 banners to be seen) then just post in on a philosphy board.
FYI Apple made the os 10 called OS X as it uses Unix at least to some point... Windows copied even the X of the name so they are XP without having anything about anything Unix.
There are many Safari users who use those v62-v67. Why? Because they believe the new versions will resolve some issues.
Just give out the nightly builds like Chimera / Camino does. Those Safari users using the unreleased versions will enjoy the nightly builds and help fixing and finding the things that need still adjusting in Safari.
I want to build a retro Mac. A 970 - when they will come out - inside an old Quadra. Does anyone have an old Quadra tower that looks OK outside and that is useless for you? Don't think about throwing it away - donate it for me [a poor partially occupied geek]. Even if it does not work. I'll save you those 30 $ trashing fee, and you can be sure your old Mac will find a good home.:)
Not only M$ does that. I get up to 20 spams a day from iol.it and libero.it - their pornographic announcements that luckily mail.app filters.
But - back to hotmail and M$ - I don't believe the rumor before I see it. I use hotmail only for registering use and throw web services, or for the things I think I can get spammed from. And - I filter my mails. If the incoming mail contains hotmail and is NOT in my address book > trash.

if it was a real article, why would they specify that they are using NT? to attract hackers to exploit the tagged homeless?
at least the article has the date, so no need to read any further than it

I bought a 20 G ipod in January, and never bothered to sell it and buy the 30 G model.
It does what it is supposed to do, and I don't see it lacking any features I'd want it to have in it (or which woudl be in the new models).
I am still completely happy with it.
As a small note to the first phrase, Panther does run on G3s. If you want more material about that, go to http://macintosh.fryke.com
Why did you install 1.2.4 iPod update if you _now_ want to get away the European volume control software update?
I am european, and never bothered to install that (1.2.4) update to my iPod so I don't have to wonder how to undo it.
If you did not install it there, it is not there, period.

Why did it take 3 years to make the macs accent key shortcuts to a notice?
Can someone tell me if the windows accent keys have any logic? I hate those alt-132, alt-256 etc combo strakes..
