Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power.
- Benjamin Franklin
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety

By giving up liberty, we may be safer from terrorists, but we are less safe from our government, causing us to have neither Liberty nor Safety.
I installed it yasterday then rebooted my computer... and it rebooted again... and again... and again.... and again.... (even when trying to go into safe mode) Somehow the installation of IE7 corrupted the boot sector. I had to go into the recovery console and fix the boot sector for it to work. Obviously my impression of it is quite low even before trying it. I think Ill stick with firefox.
If the TV tells you to start your laundry, then the house isn't doing its job. You should be able to toss your laundry down a chute, and have it automatically sorted, washed, dried, and returned to you, ready to wear again. I don't want a TV or house that acts like a naggy mother.
Near where I live a lot of people did just that cause there was so much snow, and they couldnt even get out of their driveways (not to mention branches and power lines everywhere). Never seen a snowstorm this early before. It took out quite a few trees cause the snow piled on their leaves (wich have only barly started to change color and nowhere near falling off yet)
This happened to me. had an email adress that didnt get any spam and only used it for internal company communications. Emailed Leadtek one day about a part that needed a replacement, and boom, spam stars pouring in the next day.
At the college I went to, we have a security lab that is tightly locked down. (No outside machines allowed to connect, and no internet access whatsoever.) This means any activation has to happen over the phone, waiting on hold for a microsoft represenative.
I didnt have any silicon wafers, so I took some vanilla wafers and some quartz, and thew them into a pottery kiln together. Unfortunatly the result didnt fit into my slot 939 motherboard or into any of my other motherboards, so I was unable to test if it worked.
I considered doing this by staying in high school an extra year, which would have given me 68 credit hours of AP credit going into my first year of college, but only 48 of those credits would have applied to my major, and I would have had to be in college for at least 3 years anyway because of a long course progression that AP could only shorten by 3 months, so it wouldn't have helped me much. Ended up deciding to go to college for a full 5 years (it was a 5 year program) but took a bunch of extra classes that interested me that I wouldn't have been able to take if I tried rushing through it, plus I had a 5 year scholarship as well and was paying next to nothing the last couple years. I would recommend to anyone who is financially able, to go through college and enjoy what it has to offer rather than rush through it.
There are bacteria on earth that can survive in a martian environment. Now we just genetically engineer them into something edible and nutritious, and figure out how to grow enough of them, and how to harvest them, and about ten thousand other little things.
I have a computer wich will not boot up, unless I eather connect a new powered periphial, or disconnect a currect one (latly ive been unplugging/plugging in the floppy drive every other boot). If I dont it powers up for about half a second, then crashes. Besides this problem it has run for 2 years without a problem. (got it cheap but no warrenty and made it a linux box only time its powered off is when ive had to move or theres been a power outage of more than 20 minutes)
What annoys me about this is 2 things, even with it working as it should.
A. The have it as a critical update, and not only that they have released it as such twice off the standard patch days. I deactivated my critical updates alert because of this cause I got tired of it going "You have critical updates not installed, bla bla bla, your computer is at risk" just for the WGA.
B. You have to restart to apply it. Common! you already make people with servers restart enough with required patches because your OS is a POS that cant just restart that specific module, but now your making people do restarts just for your WGA, something which in itself is questionable?
Well the veacles are only required to be able to climb a 1% grade (and decend a 7% one) at an average velocity between 15 and 25 MPH so it wont get you where your going very fast, or through hills.
I would think being dead would be a major inconvienence. Anyway with lives actually on the line if the internet goes out ( Such as a failure of a 911 call to go through when its needed via VOIP, or a doctor unable to access a patients medical information at another hospital to know a person has an allergy to a certain medication. People can die due to a DoS attack.
Compasses would still work during the actual flip. There will still be a residual magnetic field while the flip is happening (but only about 10% as strong it is today)it would only be when the new reversed magnetic firld strengthens to the point to eaqual the residual field that compasses will not work, however this period of time will be much shorter than the switch itself as the reverse field would continue to strengthen. (your looking at about 10-20 years with the total magnetic field at 1% of todays if it strenthens at the same rate it is decaying today)
The price of zinc has gone up - which is what the penny is mostly made of.

This Story is pointless. I'm Leaving.

Every month in wired there's an "found: artifacts from the future" picture. a few months ago it featured a soft drink product with negative calories.
Also there is a food already available that for all intents and purposes contains negative calories: Celery
Ha ha! im the safest of you all! I use wget to download it to an encrypted file, then view it with a hex editor, decrypting it in my head!

Apparently you didn't read my post's manual. (Also known as my signature)
All misspellings and grammatical errors in the above post are intentional and part of my artistic expression.
Not reading manuals is a pebkac error. To fix this problem I recommend replacing the user.

Some games distribute updates via bittorrent (such as Gunz: the duel)
I do know people that had to get Top Secret clearence for an internship with the government. Its not as uncommon as you think.

mailbox - failed Bush has ingnored our compaints and views.
ballot box - failed. too many people uneducated about current affairs to make the system work, and a poor showing by the democratic canidate.
Jury box - failed government is denying our ability to use it to protect our rights.
Only one box left.
