I interviewed with these guys a couple of years ago to run their IT department. They were really vague about what their actual service was. I let the interview early as nothing felt right. Though they did seem to have tons of $.
They're now going by the name of Jawa and are at http://jawa.com/ . They're pushing a happy charitable face but doing the same crap as they were before.
>but he's poor enough to qualify for a public defender for the felony obscenity charge against him
There generally isn't a qualification process to get a public defender. Though unless the defender is (late-80's) Markie Post, it is probably not in your best interest to do so.
What would be the point of releasing the source code to the general public? Seriously, why bother? I know that I don't have the skills or expertise to...
The thing is, I wasn't referring only to the exclusive leasing of the spectrum. Every aspect of your plan reduces liberty.
I'm old enough to remember when it was an expensive treat to call long distance. Today you can get unlimited long distance for pennies.
That's what happens when you get the government out of the way. Regulation prevents competition. If the (fed, state, & local) government's only involvement was to enforce laws against collusion and unfair practices, the cell phone industry would be in far better shape.
We don't have "free market" capitalism with current levels of governmental involvement.
Why did you feel the need resort to personal insults rather than just arguing your point? Is this a normal facet of your personality or you hiding behind the bravado of Internet anonymity? I'd recommend highly that you figure out a way to let go of your rage and focus on more productive pursuits. Posting these "scathing" responses on Slashdot does not help convince those with opposing beliefs but instead steels them against conversion to your views.
As to your example of De Gaulle, I had never before thought of France as a third world nation. You have convinced me. Thank you.
Sigh...
The Crusades was basically a DEFENSIVE action. The Muslims were sweeping
across Christendom. The history of the period is fascinating and sadly
very misunderstood.

Oh yay, heat from solar. Just what I want here in sunny Arizona on the first day of summer. It is 114F/45C outside today. The water coming into the house is too hot to give the kids a bath.
Greater efficiency is nice but when the problem is a lack of light, efficient creation of heat is less than helpful.:)
Or you use your dev machine to build binary packages of everything you need and then have your production machines install those packages.
Think of Gentoo more as a distribution -builder- instead. I have 1 box building for dozens.

Aw hell, I laughed. +1 to the AC.
For cables, Monoprice kicks Newegg's tail.

BTW, I'm referring to the mess that is wireless communications with the "that's what happens..."
Also, looks like we registered for /. within a couple days of each other...

Fascinating how your sig refers to liberty yet you propose to take away the liberty of those who don't do things how you want them to do it.

That's pretty much what they did according to their own constitution. Unfortunately the rest of the world is getting Chavez's spin on the matter. -J
The sounds on Avast can be turned off. See your options menu for more details.
I've had Gentoo running on my slugs for a couple years now. I build binary packages for them on my amd64 server. Works great. -J

Really takes pushy mum to the next level doesn't it?
Whereas your mum would be happy just to get you out of the basement and living on your own.

I'd like a "-1 WTF??" moderation choice right about now.
