Just another good reason not to buy a TiVo. It's Opt-In now, but given their record of forcing you to watch the commercial in the first place -- and that the companies behind it are the some of same ones who sued Replay TV -- how long before it becomes Opt-Out. Press thumbs down while the commercial is playing or they will send you e-mail.
I will not willingly buy a product that is doing everything they can to make you watch commercials. Fortunately my DVR provided by Dish Network has the 30-second skip standard. No special enabling key sequences required.
I hope TiVo dies from their catering to the content providers, and is replaced by something more consumer friendly!
Intel is a hardware vendor.
Linux is a software OS that runs on Intel H/W, among others.
I don't see how Intel can be the one to cut out Linux. The only people who can do that will be those that create a closed system for content delivery and refuse to license Linux to support it. That's not likely Intel.
Just my $/50 but, if it's a true Open Standard, Apple should have had to go to Intel to get it. If it's a true and valuable Open Standard then other manufacturer's would also provide methods of implementing it.
2. Effeminate robots and a beeping speech system would never have made it past the "stupidity test" thus no R2 and 3P0. Instead you'd have two very predictable and obedient automatons.
That also just happen to look and act like two gorgeous, incredibly sexy, and willing women. After all, what other kind of advanced obedient robot would any sane race build?
Wouldn't you rather have at least the option of content that you wouldn't normally have?
And you really think all the content providers will give up completely on this huge market if they can't have it entirely their own way?
I don't for a moment. It's too big. They'll whine and moan and try to get laws passed, and then they'll adapt and make more money than ever before. Every attempt at restrictive formats (remember the original DIVX) has failed, and the content providers continue to make more money from new formats (e.g. DVDs) than old formats (gone to a movie lately?).
To all you Apple, OSX, Tiger, Leopard posters: Do you really think Apple won't be adopting this too?
Heck they may have it out and running first -- and forcing you to accept it since it will the in the only OSX to run on Intel hardware.
(Maybe you do think Apple would never stoop this low. After all, you now seem to think that unseen unshipped Intel processors are suddenly better than IBM PPC processors.)
the lock on your front door isn't to keep determined criminals out.
Of course not. But it is my technological protection measure allowing me to sue the criminal who robbed my house for circumvention of same under the DMCA. That will scare them away for sure. The only thing I'm not decided about is if I should put a warning sign above the lock on each of my doors.
Oh, and btw, that also applies to anyone trying to break in by decoding my digital garage door opener. That case has already gone to court!
1: I'd like to see SCO sued out of existance by everyone they pressured into buying one of those insurance licences against the possibility of future infringement that they knew didn't exist.
2: I'd doubly like to see each and every one of them sued into debt for their next three lifetimes for flogging their stock value on the basis of a court case they knew from the beginning was bogus.
3: I'd like to see all their miserable hides in jail for lying to the court that they actually had a case here when they knew from the beginning that they didn't!
4: I'd like to take a good rest from all this foolishness.
I think if you need to ask this question then you're in over your head because you clearly don't understand the system.
As has been pointed out by others, you should know what power is available over there to run your laptop, and carry enough batteries for your GPS. Most aren't rechargable simply because they can run for 10's of hours on penlights.
And don't rule out considering a car charger for you laptop, since whatever vehicle you end up using may be more compatible -- and reliable -- than the wall plugs.

NoTel Motel in Tucson, Arizona
And they do advertise rooms by the week, by the day, and by the hour.
notellmo.tel is going to be one of the first domains sold.
If it is, it has to be sold to the NoTel Motel in Tucson, Arizona. Yes there really is such a place, and yes it's right next to the unofficial Red Light street district.
One: If the UN gains the ability to tax domain name holders, you can bet that the tax will not be uniform. They will attempt to "punish" the rich while rewarding the perceived "worthy" with vastly different tax rates.
Two: Much of the money raised will never leave the UN and its employees. Oil-for-food-2 anyone?

Oh, wait. Scientologists don't ask for prescriptions.
Nevermind.
Hard to quantify.
But the fact that it pisses Intel off is a certainity!

Free beers? That's an importnat factor in the decision tree.

Isn't it amazing how many other people think they own the results of your own efforts?
That also just happen to look and act like two gorgeous, incredibly sexy, and willing women. After all, what other kind of advanced obedient robot would any sane race build?
Oh my God! They killed Jar-Jar -- you Bastards!
I would have settled just for Jar-Jar Binks on the cutting room floor. Then Episodes I and II could have been combined into a single, remaining film.
Also his C share is Wideee open with no firewall at \\127.63.232.12\C$
Some one with l33t hacking skills and no clue should hack the living hell out of this guy!.
Since you're already in anyway, DEL *.*
Or is that not l33t enough for a wide-open share?
You can both discuss common life experiences together -- like hypocrisy!
Since it only runs on Apple hardware, do they need to? They sure have it on iPod.
I HOPE Apple won't do it.
If MS does it, Apple will have to follow suit because they will not be able to display the content at all otherwise.

Isn't that a standard abbreviation of J6P yet?
Of course, now with product activation on XP, MS can shut off sales of it at any time simply by refusing to activate new copies.
So how do we stop this freight train? Everyone stay with Win98SE?

Watching two different programs sounds cute, until you start trying to divide up who gets the soundtrack.

1: I can electrolyze pure water using renewable sunlight and solar cells.
2: This process leaves a waste product to deal with.
But other than that...
