You might want an Xbox just as a DVD player, and then maybe buy bargain-bin games later on, a few years down the road. So you buy the console and the DVD kit. Microsoft doesn't make all that money back on the DVD kit alone... Time to get sued.
Hey, if you ever liked the game Actraiser (the first one, not the sequel) for SNES, and would like to re-create a game like it for Linux/Windows or whatever, look me up. I'd really consider putting aside time to work on art, music, and sound for a game like that.
There was a distro I tried out not long ago that let you play Solitaire while it installed... I can't recall if it was Lycoris or what, but I'm sure it's on my list.
Frankly, when this game came out I ignored it because it sounded really dumb. (Ooooh, "the fantasy kingdom sim!") Plus it didn't have a lot of ads in game magazines, which is how I judge games.
Good to know that the media forcing opinions into our heads is the only way to go about forming individuality.
Afterimage is produced in low lighting conditions, such as movie theatres, which means that filmmakers can use less film to produce good results. There's nothing medical about it.
If you can't tell a difference between 30 fps and 60 fps, then you're blind and should go and see an optometrist.
And just how many other Linux game publishers are there? Come on now, be for real. Who would touch a Linux port by Hyperion?
People whining for things doesn't help anything. We're not getting EA Sports games, we're not getting Unreal 2, we're not getting BF1942. At this stage, we should be glad we get anything.
Ballistics is a racing game, sure, but it doesn't have cars in it. It's more like Wipeout XL or something. You or I may not care, and we just like the fact that we're getting a racing game, but some people don't think it's the same... And I can see their point.
You can't ignore the fact that if someone develops on a project, they will have total extreme views about it... Think about it. If I hated Wine and thought it was harming more than helping, would I be smart to contribute to it? No...
And all Wine developers that I've discussed these issues with DO sound the same. It's not about attacking a person, I'm just saying that there's no sense in arguing with someone like that because they're just as stubborn as I am, and we'll get nowhere. MY opinions won't change, HIS opinions won't change.
Because people are not told about native ports, and they are led to believe that WineX is the only solution for gaming.
I didn't understand it the first time someone messaged me on ICQ asking for help to get it running, but the third person to ask me for help, now that's just ridiculous.
On top of that, I checked on PlanetQuake the other day, and I saw this:
WineX 3.0 For Linux Gamers Community News | 4/17/2003 | 5:52 PST - Jube I noticed on 3DAP that WineX 3.0 for Linux has been released, giving gamers access to more Windows games in Linux, with greater ease. The WineX user ratings for Q2 and Q3A are both high. You can find a full list of WineX 3.0 updates here.
Now, last I checked, the Quake 2 and Quake 3 icons on my desktop launch the native ports...
...that all the Linux users keep on shooting down all the games that Hyperion considers porting. I mean, why should they bother? No one has anything good to say about it, and the same jokes are being said over and over again.
We could have had a port of Tzar, but no, everyone had to complain about it, and now we could get a racing game, but it's not good enough...
I recommend Hyperion to just go the way of Tribsoft and forget they ever considered Linux.
It can't be as bad as that free game called Racer...
Unless they've fixed it in the last three months, I remember driving off a track, trough the wall, and into the big blue nothingness. TuxRacer is gonna be hard to beat though...

ow, my side.

They have the access they would need to compete on Linux, so when will we get Internet Explorer for Linux?
LOTR as a musical? Who wants to see that?
Now if this were Monty Python and the Holy Grail as a musical, *that* would be different.

There is an unofficial installer for it, but you would know that if you looked on BioWare's forums.
But he's such a joker! No one will ever take Linus seriously.
*sigh*

So then you do agree with Hyperion and Tribsoft's opinions that Linux users aren't loyal to Linux. Why are we arguing?
Go Linux users, go!
So I guess you and I make up the majority then?
And just how many other Linux game publishers are there? Come on now, be for real. Who would touch a Linux port by Hyperion?

Racer isn't under the GPL, if you're trying to say it is (http://www.racer.nl/legal.htm).
Either way, it needs a lot of work. I mean, it's not really playable when you fall off of the world...

Suit yourself, but when Hyperion calls it quits for good, it won't be a wonder.
I'm still amazed to see how the Linux community can feel good about killing off two porting companies like that.
LGP was going to publish it, but Hyperion was going to port it.
And Ballistics isn't even in beta yet, so does it really count?
...that all the Linux users keep on shooting down all the games that Hyperion considers porting. I mean, why should they bother? No one has anything good to say about it, and the same jokes are being said over and over again.

Oh my, we have Neverwinter Nights now, I guess that's too many RPGs for Linux!
We'd better get one racing game and then we're all set. No more games ported after that please. One of each genre is plenty.
Is it just me or do all of those screenshots look the same? (404s)
It can't be as bad as that free game called Racer... Unless they've fixed it in the last three months, I remember driving off a track, trough the wall, and into the big blue nothingness. TuxRacer is gonna be hard to beat though...
You're a Wine developer, aren't you?
I've argued with Wine developers before, and they all sound the same to me, and you sound like one. Apologies if you're not.
You can dismiss my arguments as whatever you like, I don't really care. They're my opinions, and last I checked, everyone was entitled to their own.
It was pasted above... not really hard to look... it's that long-ass comment up there...
You clearly haven't tried either of the games.
They are actualy high-quality, and they aren't Linux-specific.
I suggest you not run your mouth about things that you know nothing about.
