I've been using Flash as a more general-purpose multimedia authoring app for mostly offline stuff for over two years now. Even if you take Macromedia's Flash market share on the Web down to 0, it'll still be a pretty powerful sub-$500 Windows/Mac multimedia publishing program, which might not be a bad fallback niche even under a worst case scenario.
Man, I hope they do justice to Police Academy, Short Circuit, Cocoon, and Three Men and a Baby. I think those Gutenberg classics will be fabulous as audiobooks.

I was working inside my PC, banging my fingers around and enduring the usual nicks and scrapes. While putting a HD in the case, I noticed that one of the cuts on my hand had been bleeding pretty profusely into the CPU socket. Let it dry, chipped off what I could, plugged in the CPU...and it worked. That was two years ago, and still chugging away. Tyan mobo fan for life.
