    It depends upon the nature of the problem and the competency of the developers.
    If you know enough of the code tree you can tell when first reproducing and examining the failure whether it is a one off mistake or a larger procedural fault.

    Single instance stupid errors (doh! moments) can be rectified and put through testing fairly quickly, however if your initial examination uncovered a larger problem then obviously the process will take longer (if at all - consider workarounds).

    If the original dev/test team has been replaced over time this becomes a more difficult issue and every bug must go through complete verification simply because the extent or ramifications of the code modification will not be known.

    In some instances we have had fixes out of the door the same day an issue was noticed, in others months go by before a final fix is put in place.

    The system is closed however the heat exchanger unit operates to the (usually) cooler air of the outside world.

    In winter they do their job more efficiently.

    I do.
    There is no rule which says "when jamming, ensure you only jam the frequencies being used by your enemy".
    You want to stop the signal any way you can, and if a high pitched scream does the job then so be it.

    I can see this owrking really nicely with a glass table.
    Who says you have to aim at the tv?
    It might work coming to the actual glass surface which means you could lay your arm down and rest it like a mouse but you have the third dimension when you need it.

    This mod seems good and the best part is it doesn't even need a wii console.
    If you can lay your hands on a wiimote that will suffice.
    He wrote the app on a pc using one of the bluetooth interface stacks.

    The scariest part of all this is that according to google I died in an industrial accident a few years ago.
    It was a shock when i discovered this, but thankfully measures have been put in place to ensure it never happens again.

    If google cannot find anything about you then you have misspelt your name.
    If nothing comes up then you were switched at birth and can find information by typing in your correct name.

    I only found out about this when I discovered my real birth name is inanimate carbon rod.

    I thought the images were of monkeys at first, however when I went to have a look at MRI images of a human head was thankfully proven wrong (some of us have our monkey origins hidden better than others).

    So, for comparison here is a page with images of human heads in a normal MRI.

    I hope they get the focusing better (which is what I understand the power is used for) because this will be a good progression.

    Thats all well and good, but you just doubled the cost of a mission by requiring it has its own in orbit receiver.

    Granted if they get a generic high bandwidth sat in orbit then for all other missions it would work (like Mars Odyssey and MGS do for the rovers when direct connection is not available).

    It will be stuck in a chicken and egg situation until then.

    Voyager is 15 billion kilometres not miles as stated (about 9 billion miles)

    Who would have thought that light could travel such a long distance?

    In all seriousness, the problem is not the knowledge a laser can travel that far; its whether you can create precise enough targeting equipment.
    A radio signal might be more of a splatter, but at least if you point it "over there" with enough power behind it, it will get there.

    As they say their simple hilltop to hilltop test failed because of weather conditions, whats going to happen when they do put 'scopes at the lagrange points?

    "Oh sorry, we can't get the data today because its cloudy"

    Back onto the radio front, we have Voyager 1 which is 15 billion miles away, proven with radio, that would seem good enough for me.
