WMP 6.4 doesn't either, and you need version 7.0 or greater to install the codecs package.
I don't [purposely] download [DRM'd or not] WinMedia9 files, but the times they are a changing, and not everyone who uses WMM is smart enough to know the difference. In fact, with Win2kSP3 and Windows XP Microsoft has now made their OS update itself and I wonder how many users out there don't realise that they are making non-viewable files. Of course the only way to go back is to remove the OS and start from scratch and actually turn off the self-updater..... And how many users distrust MS enough to do that?
The even more unfortunate thing is, the more people steal stuff, the more they use that as a justification for raising the prices.
I don't think it's occurred to them that a significant portion of people don't 'steal' movies on principle, they do it because it's either unavailable locally (not everyone lives in DVD Region 1) or it's unaffordable and therefore they make justifications to themselves.
Personally I think that they should make their product more appealing to purchase. If it was cheaper and you got more for your money, wouldn't it be worth supporting the artist?
Yes I do pay for music, but I'm picky about what I'll buy. I don't copy anything I wouldn't pay money for, and I usually end up coughing up the money for it eventually, even if it's only to get a decent copy of it. I don't get very many warm fuzzies for spending my hard-earned dollars, and I don't get much more than somebody who's downloaded the music off the internet. Sure I get a legitimate looking cd, a (mostly) decent jewel case insert, and occasionally some lyrics, but does this warrant spending 10% of my weekly wage?
Once the RIAA stops promoting crap and starts actually giving people a reason to buy their supported artists, they might see sales rise.
I work for a QLD govt department that DOES take computers and servers for evidence. If somebody's committed a crime, too bad. Investigation takes precedence.
My father was accused of having child porn on his hard drive. The police took the hard drive. It took him 3 years to get it returned. They don't care.
They probably seized the servers in question for evidence. They'll be returned as soon as the forensic folks are done making a "tamperproof" copy. (Not the word I mean but it's nearly time to go home and I can't think.)
Less disruptive to take the hardware and make a copy off-site and then return it than to try and make their equipment function on-site.
Coupla days she'll be right mate.
My favourite part is where you misspelt "their" in relation to education.
I'm Australian and I managed to get something of out of the "screwed up education system". Try paying attention in school. Less tv, less internet, more study.
I think you said it all. I've never watched DZ, nor do I ever intend to. If that's the sort of show you prefer, then go for it. Personally I'd take SMG and Ryan Phillipe with a dash of Reese Witherspoon any day.
The first episode I saw was season 4's "Hush". I recommend this to all the nay-sayers. Won an award (golden globe or something), and well deserved too.
I heard that she actually wants to settle down and have kids and be a mother instead of being a 'star'. She didn't have much of a childhood having grown up in hollywood, so I think she's pining for the traditional roles as wife and mother. I don't blame her, well except that Freddie is a putz and she could've done better.
How can you say all her movies are crap? Cruel Intentions whilst not entirely original did show quite a bit of good acting on her part. I much preferred to look at Reese Witherspoon, but SMG was displaying some damn fine assets too.
I'm sure he'll work that out around the time he works out that there is more than pr0n on the internet!!!
And around the time he decides to remove his head from his arse to work out that just because you have a download limit higher than 3gig does not make you a pir8. I mean c'mon, how much data does it take to play a game on a server other than the one your ISP runs? Or to look at lots of websites, or to chat on ICQ, or to download LEGAL software such as linux distributions.
I wanna know when somebody's gonna work out that mp3 is not the only format in which music is shared on the internet.
As an "official" beta tester for Office 11 beta, they can come to my place and see what I do with it. (not much)
Seriously though, how come I can't get an invitation to Redmond to see their testing procedures? Maybe cuz I have half a clue what they're supposed to be doing.
And when is this source going to be made available on the internet? Will it be compilable? Can I actually use it to optimise my PC for the hardware it's running?
Somehow I doubt it, and that's why I haven't booted windows in over a week. Runs like a one-legged dog cuz I don't have a p4 3.04gig with hyperthreading.
I have no problem with old computer stuff. I guess my fiance is a lucky guy;-) In fact, he keeps trying to stop ME from collecting old stuff, but then spends all his spare time playing with it. Go figure.
ROFL.... yes actually I was. I thought immaturity would have reached peak a while ago considering the number of unique usernames already existing on/.
Guess I was wrong.
I got one of those nice mousemats that has a little pillow for my wrist. Say goodbye to strained wrist after 5 straight hours of gaming.
On a side note, the expensive version of this leaves hardly any room to move the mouse. I found the cheaper version works just as well and you don't need to worry about hitting the edge of the mousemat simply by trying to get to the edge of the screen. (Even with mouse sensitivity set to stupid levels you run out of space on the mousemat after 5 minutes. We have the expensive version of the mat at work.)
Does it play DRM'd wmv files?

And then there's those of us for whom it's late afternoon and were expecting AF jokes over 12 hours ago.
We did Bugsy Malone as a school musical in high school. IMO our version stank up the joint but was a lot more watchable than the movie.

BSPlayer. Sounds like crap, but isn't. Free (beer) too.

Does this mean if you're behaving obnoxiously I can shoot you? It's not my fault if you're not expecting it and fail to wear a bullet-proof vest.

Hyundai is an extremely popular brand in Australia. So is Toyota. So is Mitsubishi. So is Ford. Cars are cars unless you're a 'riceboy'.

I guess they're already suffering from being slashdotted. The pictures don't load any more. *SIGH* Damn having to do work and missing them by minutes.
