Wouldn't be shocked if MS has allready got thier flash Equiv in the works and are just havin a hard time comming up with something that is as good or nearly as good as flash to compete... I Predict that Flash will also Fall to MS as any other software company that is in the mainstream. When MS starting doing all thier dammage to Java thats when Flash started to hit big (well... Might not have much to do with MS layin the boots to java as it serves its purpose very well)... But Really these days... Innovate something and once it starts getting popular might as well sell it for millions and move on to you next project as its impossible to battle with MS.
I think youu confused with a specific application. QAM has nothign to do with multiple signals... Its just a form of modulation that uses keys... QAM 16 is just less than 1/4 as good as QAM 64 and QAM 256 realy Is just marginally better than QAM 64 as the symbols are starting to get really close and confused so there is a fairly high signaling error rate. But thats another topic totally... QAM is just a more advanced form of QPSK.
Yeah is still aloty of Java Development going on.. but compared to its potential its nearly dead as far as desktop apps go. and C/C++ still can't quite compete on the same playing field.. as there is a compatibility issue there still as to distribution.. (The exact same app can just be loaded on to every platform.. one needs to make sure that its the approprate code for that platform).
If C/C++ where really at that universal stage you would see alot more games being cross realesed on multiple platforms (Talking more PC/Mac/Linux than console because of exclusive contracts). Not to mention Java for the most part is a Secure operating Lang so its alot harder for Virii and Trogans and the like to take ahold of your machine.
MS has pushed Java back to a point where its not a threat... Remember Suns Javastation that never quite took off.. It had all the potential only if there was the right ammount of application support.. They should have defined thier licening better to prevent MS's dammage to Java.
What they did was inexcusable and have been let off the hook way too easily... They really need to properly punished for their strong arm tactics so they will stop using them and let more of the Software industry flurish.
Ahh on that note too they need to learn that during every single commerical break there are tonnes of guys out there that are stick and tired of Maxipad ads.. and the products to make women feel spring fresh!..
Its bad enough that your GF makes you sit down and watch some cheese new sitcom.. but to sit through all them damn commercials.. Not to mention there is very little variety in commercials as well.. Its the same old same old commericals you allways see... There are sum that are a Riot to see and I enjoy seeing 3 maybe 4 times.. but after 100 or so times it wears out badly.. not to mention one can esily see the same commercial 100 times in a 48 hour period if one is a avid TV watcher.
Current market Value of linux... 0$... The pervious market value of linux.. 0$... can't get any cheaper than free:)... I would really like to see MS release 95 code into the open source community to actually generate some real compitetion in the OS market.. as when you get down to it... Everything (pretty much) Will still run under windows 95... If MS has done so much innovation in the OS market why is there minimal compatibilty issues with running software on windows 95? All this suposed Innovation that MS has had on the market place is merely Marketing Hype.
Well hopefully this will be a wake up call to other OEM computer suppliers that They don't need to be bundling a MS over priced OS under an exclusive agreement.
For the most part unless MS has changed thier licencing policy... They pay for a copy of windows for every PC they build reguardless if the customer will use it or not..
I would like to see more diveristy in the OS market.. Java was a idea that one could wite a application and it would be 100% portable across all platforms.. This was ground breaking as far as application building goes... No more porting Apps to diffrent platform.. a write once run everwhere Language.. then MS caught wind of how popular it was getting and did the nasty to it.. now Java is for the most part gone and not as widely used as it should be to enable other OS's to compete in the desktop market.
Eliminating the Airwaves of Free TV is most likely lobbied by Cable/Satellite Providers... That is a market they can't tap into... Alot of people are happy with just a few local channels and don't want to look at all the Blah Blah commercialized Hype. Once there is no more free TV it will force them to get cable/sat and pay a rate and get alot of what they don't want.. Big Network TV with the absolute minimum ammount of localized content they can get away with...
US TV is way over commercialized.. There is getting to be less and less programming available as the big media conglomerates continue to buy up their competition untill the FCC say Slow down your going to upset the balance.. so what is left is a minimal ammount of content left which is watered down with commercialism..
The CRTC Canada's Similar Equip of the American FCC actually does alot of good to promote new original content.. If you have kids you would be Very interested in seeing what Canada has for children programming its some of the most top notch tv you can find.. instead of Pokemon and Power Rangers ect which are just huge marketing machines influencing the minds of the young into "Gotta have the newest action figure/trading cards" mind set.
The reigns need to be pulled and the massive media conglomerates need to be slowed down and new original networks need to be let onto the market place to bring back original programming that is allowed to be truly unique. The barrier of entry has been raised substantially and its not so easy to break into this market and eliminating free tv will only help raise this barrier even higher.
LOL... The probably allready DO! Look at how thier Trustworthy Computing initiative is working so far:) So Imagine how well a MS Thrustworthy Employee would work..
I didn't leak the email... It was the Sony TV in times square that did. I can't be held responcible for other people looking at same information I am at the time. I took all the precauions i could.. I told them not to look.
Or
It was another email worm that sent out that email to the press.. not me.
Its just more hype. All talk no action.. I am really sick of MS commercials telling me what I should think of thier products.. I judge it on where the rubber hits the road.. and MS for the most part isn't using rubber anymore.. and you have a EULA that prevents you from taking it anywhere near a road..
I have allways wondered Why Bother with C#.. Its not portable.. So Why not C++ or VB or some other lang... I haven't played with C# so I don't have any experience with it to talk from.. Just seems a bit of a moot point using a lang that was created for cross platform compatibility then lock it into one platform.
Thats working for no-mind idiots:) Use what ever meets all your needs that will have the most longevity while being cost effective. Thats the proper way to eval:)
So Basicaly.. It needs to fit thier needs:) How else would you eval something:)
Can't Imagine any IT manager giving a go ahead on a product that doesn't hold up to the current min standards.:)
Well there is contental Drift you know.. Thats why all those postal codes are there...:) we will have to adjust alot of addresses every few thousand years or so:)Not to mention any new islands that pop up:)
Should redo those measurements in meters:) Not Miles:) The rest of the world is Metric.. less than 7% of the worlds population still uses Miles:) Talk about making a system that doesn't fit the worlds common useage:)
USPS Move half of the worlds Snail mail when its only the third largest country in the world?its 1/10th the size of the top 2 countries added together let alone the other 220+ countries that arn't in the top 3. sure the USPS Moves alot of mail.. but I wouldn't say 1/2 especially when the US is barely 5% of the worlds population.
GPS Coord's would be the ultimate solution... Would make map drawing alot simpler when you don't have to do a postal code to GPS conversion... Then there wouldn't be a need to write addresses on mail as well.. Just name and a GPS Coord to send to.. no city/state nuttin! Just Name and GPS... Would make it alot handier to get a Pizza Dilivered to a soccer game:)
There are Tonnes of Bad Linux Installs out there... Probably almost as many as really insecure windows systems... Just because someone has a OS that has the ability of it being secure doesn't mean it actually is... Only diffrence between Linux and MS OS is you need to do some work to make a linux system secure.. MS OS Security though obsecurity.... I'll leave that there.
Holy offtopic batman!

The latency wouldn't be that great for gaming though :)

How many of the Big network have good local news.. Virtually none.. The focus as much news on national as possible..
Ahh on that note too they need to learn that during every single commerical break there are tonnes of guys out there that are stick and tired of Maxipad ads.. and the products to make women feel spring fresh!..

Ever heard of a mail forwarding service?
Well there is contental Drift you know.. Thats why all those postal codes are there... :) we will have to adjust alot of addresses every few thousand years or so :)Not to mention any new islands that pop up :)
Really? That couldn't to a geographic overlay to find the right zone?
I hope you don't work in the IT field with that small ammount of vision you have.
There are many many Billions of people that use metric rather than the millions that don't. Get with the times :)
Should redo those measurements in meters :) Not Miles :) The rest of the world is Metric.. less than 7% of the worlds population still uses Miles :) Talk about making a system that doesn't fit the worlds common useage :)
OH! You live on General Protection Fault!! I know Soooo Many people that live on that street... I live on Memory Fault Myself :)
