So using the same logic the RIAA uses... They should be on the hook for the cost of keeping gang related criminals in jail as they distribute music that promotes gang activity. or could atleast be listened to while crimes are being commited.
"The glossy screens tend to have better contrast and be easier on my eyes, and glare isn't an issue in practice."
Are you a Vampire or just Nocturnal? Every glossy screen I have tired to use has cause me to move my head around so that I could see the text behind that awful glare that is bouncing into my eyes.
Hmm... A Guy needs a T-Shirt that says.. "You have 5 seconds to opt out of me punching you in the face" then start to walk around NS's office punching people. See what they think of this "Opt-Out" style of "Business".
The best thing to do to drop Bell and bell related services(Resellers) and shout from mountain tops to everyone you know to do so aswell.. Regulations/Lawsuits blah blah.. They are not effective as a massive sudden drop in subscriber base.. With Regulations and Lawsuits they will allways keep looking for a Loophole or a way around it.. But if you suddenly lose a substantial portion of your customer base because if your business practices... you will think twice about trying anything similar again.
You could never get a infrastructure in place to compete. You would end up "Renting" under rules that would end up benefiting comcast rather than the ISP renting. If you could manage to get all the contracts in place to be able to install a new infrastructure that your own and have control over.. 1 Billion dollars is but a drop of what it would take to fill the 50 gallon drum required to compete with comcast on equal footing.
Well they seemed to miss the Important data like Months/Years since any security patches were applied. I would guess that the search for my Surprise face would be a extremely short one to see that 80%+ of the compromised sites haven't seen any type of a security patch in 6+ Months. Its a pretty big difference between how long it takes Linux/Apache to Patch a security exploit to Microsoft twiddling its thumbs for 3-6 month before they even recognize a exploit and patch it and in some cases they just don't patch it at all(Unpatches IE 6 bugs?! I know it doesn't relate to IIS bugs.. but still.. It drives me they just don't care about products that have the market share).
I am waiting to hear about the EU taking possession of MS's Datacenters in Europe and a deadline given before the equipment is auctioned off for payment the daily fines that are accruing with MS's non-compliance.
Seriously any University in the US should be making a statement that they will not recognize any k-12 education system where evolution has been downplayed and creative design is taught to be more creditable.
Companies should not be allowed to Selectivly Leverage Patents.. If they permit one company to use it without proper licensing it should be the same for every company... Patents should be void if a company allows a "Infringing Technology" to become mainstream before they decide they should Leverage their patent.
What I would love to see is some of the torrent sites (Or other P2P sites) Poll people downing movies as to why they didn't go see it in theaters or buy it on dvd. And publish them so the MPAA might start to realize just because a movie was downloaded 50K times it doesn't mean they lost 50K sales. a Poll might look like this.
a) I am a Collage Student and my choice was not eat for an entire day so I could pay to see this movie.. or Download a crappy version off the internet. b) All the reviews said the movie was bad.. All my friends that saw the movie said it was bad.. I am curious if it was really that bad.. but not curious enough to shell out the price of a ticket. c) I'd pay to see this movie.. But not 10$ not 5$ maybe a couple bucks.. d) I saw all the best parts of this movie in the trailer that available free on-line.. Why do I need to pay to see the crappy parts of the movie now?
Port Knocking is the way to go. With no ports answering alot of the Port Scan "Network Spam" would go away.. They should stop trying to invent a new wheel for everyone to ride and focus on a way to use a passphrase to determine what ports should be probed in what order with what time span. Leaving ports open Just encourages hackers to continue to probe your machine. Honeypots or no..
Just wait.. Next week MS will announce that XP WGA is more hardcore than ever before.. But if you don't like teh Nags.. Just Upgrade to Vista. If people wont do it willingly force them via nags..
But there is a Catch 22.. There is no technical reason why any of the software would REQUIRE Vista.. as far as DX10 goes.. I wouldn't be shocked to see someone release instructions on how to get DX10 working on XP much like they did with DX on NT4 back in the day.
MS has a a problem.. With Backward compatibily comes a reduced need to upgrade your OS as there has been no innovation in core OS API's. As this article shows XP is a better choice than Vista for Speed and stability.. I would not be shocked to hear that MS will be upgrading XP to alot of the same slow API's that vista uses to level the playing field and to make Vista attractive for new users...
It would be diffrent if MS never came out with X64 XP and only Support X64 via Server and Vista OS's.. even though X64 offers little to no advantage on your average desktop (key average desktop).. I simply do not understand why people chose up upgrade to Vista over XP... Vista has a bit of eye candy and a pile of problems.
Its quite simple.. Its the mindset most everyone has about nearly every opinion they have... You will allways get praise making steps towards a certain point of view from those who share that same view.. But if you make a step away from that view, depending on how strong feelings are you could be shunned by that group for even the slightest step away from their point of view.
Umm.. DSL is shared aswell.. Just at a different point.. It really depends on the engineering of your high speed as to which bottleneck is the first one to degrade your date rates. Where I live cable is 2-3 times faster than "dedicated" DSL no matter the time of day..
What do you mean IF one of the paintballs causes a wreck.. You allready distracted by a cellphone while your driving and BAM! Your car gets hit by a paint ball scaring the living hell out of you..
"Distracted driving should be a crime. IF the person is observed driving distracted, then ticket them. I don't care why they were distracted, whether it is cell phone use, putting on make up, or getting a blow job."
Boss:So can you explain to me why your license is under suspension? Employee: It was my 4th getting blowjob while driving ticket..
LOL Thats is soo true.. They have to know to come up with a number in the first place.. But it is Microsoft.. Maybe the version of office they are running has enough bugs that it has rendered cut and paste too time consuming to use.
If Edonkey wanted to call it quits.. Why Bother paying out.. They should have given they lawyers the 30Mil and told em.. Spend it all in court.. Then closed the doors and send everyone home.
This same study also shows that being a member of the RIAA means that you will Cry over Spilt Milk.. and you will be unable to tell the diffrence between money not earned and money lost..
No internet growth is not limited to the last mile.. Speeding up connections to the end user does not generate more $$ for that guys that provide you your internet... There is very little to no interest to give the end user a bigger pipe as it only raises costs and does very little to increase revenue.
The equipment is out there.. alot of infastructure needs to be upgraded to support it... but its not a problem other than it will drive down Stock prices so any public company is not interested in the investment..

You forgot 2 Xeon processors and a Terrabyte Raid array and a Gig-E interface.. That would be killer to see a data center mde from PSP's
It will still raise the noise floor.. and if it doesn't it wont work..
